"A brilliant child, born to a loving couple and fulfilling her role as the golden child in any way possible- excelling at sports, mathematics, languages and above all, being the kindest of all. My parents couldn't have been prouder. What more could you wish for? While only able to live a very simple lifestyle, juggling two full-time jobs, a farm and their children, they always did their best to provide all the support their daughter needed. And it paid off.

But enough about my sister, Ladies and Gentlemen! She's already gotten all of my mom's attention, I can't let her have yours too, can I? So Happy Birthday to her, and let's move on and start with another episode of our favorite show!
It's been almost a year now since the sudden disappearance of a few chosen individuals from around the world- Which ones you ask? Well, we're not allowed to mention names, but be sure our research team did their job and the spike of missing people is alarming! And yet no official report was ever released? A coincidence? Hardly! You wonder what happened? There's so many possibilities! Alien abduction, government involvement, maybe even a training for a higher species? Stay tuned for our conclusion and who knows- maybe you'll be the next one."

Alma was the third of four children, born on a small farm in Iowa. Having to deal with a genius daughter and all the responsibilities that came with it, her parents hardly had time for Alma and her two brothers. So she mostly spend the days outside in the woods exploring. It was fine until school started, but her inability to focus and keeping quiet soon got her in trouble. Kids considered her the odd one out, so the young girl began to befriend the farm's animals instead.
Years went by and with some help, she graduated, even if horrible grades and low attendance only allowed her to pass barely. Her sister went to college, Alma took her own college money, abandoned her family and bailed. Fitting in was something she was tired of. She spent a while travelling and mindlessly throwing out her money, taking on numerous jobs and moving on whenever she was fired or got bored of the state. She made connections, got into acting, singing, dancing, but never showed enough talent to truly get far. She dreamt of the perfect lifestyle, of being famous, meaningful, of people looking up and admiring her when she walked by. But it was only a dream, and soon enough, she found herself penniless and stranded in LA. And a dream does not feed you or provide you goods.
So she stayed in various shelters, learning to despise the bougie city life those around her were living. It felt like she was unwanted all over again, and thus she left the city she once adored at first chance.
Another couple of jobs, more questionable ones than before, until she decided to settle in a town similar to the one she grew up in. First getting a job as a motivational speaker at the local high school - honestly, she was just meant to scare the kids - but she always had a way of capturing those around her with her words. And with that, her bad examples turned into fantastic stories, painted full of emotions and leaving those who heard them to crave more.
It was no big surprise when the local radio station offered her a job after witnessing a speech themselves.
She didn't quite like the topics they wanted her to talk about- conspiracies, really? who even believed in this bullshit - but it was offering the best income she'd gotten so far and the working hours were not too horrible, so she decided to give it a go. And maybe it would even turn out useful. Who knew who was listening to her? If nothing else, it would serve as a stepping stone.

But with all the topics of Illuminati, Area 51 and Cicada 3301, maybe she was going crazy too. How else should she explain her suddenly speaking reflection, right from the glassy surface of the train's window?
And yet she checked her calendar, oddly delighted as she saw the red mark for a work day one month ahead. Another chance to prove herself. How weird. Very well. At least her listeners would probably like a story like this.

+ Personality

A girl on the run, an imposer walking a path of stolen tears, a raging tornado trapped inside of a cracking bottle. Alma is all over the place, emotions bleeding out and being too much of everything.
Her promises mean nothing, not even to herself, her moods are as colorful and everchanging as the daylight. There's nothing she can't do, no challenge great enough to intimidate her.
Oh, she wanted the world and she would get it one day.

Troubled children turn into troubled adults, and Alma is a dazzling example for it. Her childhood left her with the constant need to prove herself, both to herself and those around her without ever admitting it. She believes she is a strong, independent woman who is able to reach the unreachable, while in fact a cleverly placed word or critic can already cause her to waver.
In all her actions, she seeks a validation that she can't seem to get, her conclusion being that she simply needs a bigger audience to obtain it. A normal life? Love, marriage, a stable job? She may crave it, secretly, but she'd never settle, the fear of rejection too great.

And thus she became a traveler, both in mind and action. Responsibilities are something Alma doesn't seem to get the hang of, constantly feeling like they are weighing her down and rather choosing to leave than face them head on.
Explaining what's going on in her brain is impossible to her most of the time, a spinning carousel of emotions and dreams, never to be exposed to the outside world.
So she took what she had and began to fake it. A smile here, a wink there- charismatic and luring people in with her interesting life, wrapping them around her finger and spitting them out when not needed any more. With everyone who figured her out, she became smarter.
Fake tears were nothing she would stop at and keeping her options open seems to be her credo. Playing on the winner's side? A must. How else would you keep the last laugh otherwise? Morals and faith is easily forgotten at the prospect of a warm meal and a soft bed. At times, she'd even have sold out her own brother if there would have been any benefit from it.

Yet, it would be a mistake to claim she doesn't care about others. Alma cares, deeply, wanting the best for those she genuinely likes. The issue is rather...she does not care as much for them as she cares for herself. Everyone is responsible for themselves, and it's the only responsibility she ever fully accepted. Maybe it's why she can hardly hold a grudge against anyone.
Being vengeful seems like a waste of precious energy, so rather than taking revenge on those that wronged her, she chooses to forgive and move on. How could she not? Humans are equal, equal in their flaws and the bad actions they take. She would probably have done the same if she was in their stead.
Truly good people set her off, always assuming there's some sort of hidden intention behind their friendliness and on the other hand, being almost comforted if someone chooses to play with open cards and reveal their ill motives. Thinking outside the box is incredibly hard for her and she chooses to live in the here and now, rather than worrying about the future or having set goals.
Why confine yourself to just one future if you can have it all?

   ✦ Her memory is surprisingly good with people and faces, allowing her to recall individuals even if she only saw them once.
   ✦ Not necassarily the fastest, but she's training to run a marathon, so she has quite a bit of stamina.
   ✦ Knows basic survival skills as well as hunting and fishing, taught by her father
   ✦ Very empathetic but unable to channel it in a useful way most of the time

- Weaknesses
     ✧ Money. She can't handle it at all, gambling or new fancy shoes just two examples of where her last pay went
     ✧ A huge procastinator and got into trouble for it numerous times. Extends as far as rather starving for a day than going grocery shopping.
     ✧ Sucks at directions and remembering important information. Same goes for concentrating. She can barely read a page without getting distracted.
     ✧ Basic life skills. Like paying bills. She's currently out of power (again) and only able to charge her phone or watch TV thanks to the kind old lady next door.

+ Combat
Combat is a concept as foreign to Alma, only known from TV and media. Sure, she saw a few brawls already, but they all resolved rather quickly and were started for the least intense reasons. Her first reaction if she saw a group getting into trouble? Probably cheering on them. The good side always wins, right? No way they are going to get seriously injured or, even less believeable, may lose. All is fun, babe.
Actively participating would only ever cross her mind if she was on her own, and even then she'd see it more as a game than the hard reality it is, at least until proven otherwise. Which would hardly take long; her current combat abilities are best described as poor and predictable, her impulsive and rash acting on a whim only adding onto those flaws. Who knows? Maybe she will eventually understand flight is an option too.
