🌼🌳🏠 When they ask me to close my eyes and think of a happy place, it’s kind of like this. Nothing like a pandemic to bring out the simple joy of watching sunlight on flowers.

I've noticed single houses in varyingly abstract landscapes are an unintentionally recurring motif in my work. Without trying to dissect it too much, I think it's about themes of introspection subconsciously creeping out. Introspection and introversion, which can move swiftly along the spectrum from feelings of inspiration and contentedness to withdrawal and loneliness. So while this work in particular was spurred on by the current reality of enforced isolation, I guess I'm always self-isolating in some small way inside there.
