I has seen the rain!

LOL, I finally had the time to sit down and watch the music vid for the song today... Right after it finished I went and brought the album and the vid off iTunes

*Sigh* As if I needed more things to love about this young woman

She is ~perfection, that is simply it!

I was in the same room as her today.. great feeling She is so ~impossibly humble & sweet, how anyone could not like her or not want to cheer her on for following her dreams, it's just unfathomable!

Perfection, that's a good word, and not a word I'd apply to many people... Selena is one of those few...

Ooooh, lucky! ... Huh? Wait, you mean there are people who don't like her or cheer her on??

Shocking, isn't it?! What is wrong with those ppl! I get so sick of all the hater comments on various places like YouTube and other blogs, forums, etc.

Yes, I saw her in NYC at a z100 thing (only lasted for a few songs) on Wednesday & then at the Good Morning America show, also in NYC, on Thursday. Never got to meet her tho (by which I mean, my dream of actually meeting Sel would include my name being said and a sort of *conversation* taking place haha) BUT I got her to sign my BSB hat!!

And because of going to see her, I was also able to be in town for another chance to try & meet Matt Bomer of White Collar- which I finally DID and have been head-over-heels fangirl-ing / flipping out about ever since cuz that was an actual meeting with the name-exchanging & hugs, etc omg still so excited it happened! So yea, I, being the dork that I am, dedicate my White Collar encounter to the lovely Selena Gomez, & the easy-to-access venues like z100 & Good Morning America, for inspiring me to take off at literally the last minute just to try and see her awesomeness in person!

Sadly there's always hate these days, people hate Twilight, people hate Miley Cyrus, people hate Selena Gomez, people hate people...

Lucky, lucky, wish I could meet her some day, but I doubt it'll ever happen

I think the real sad thing is, there's ALWAYS been hate. We just see it more now because of our easy access to opinions from everyone in the world with no holds barred. I remember first getting on the internet & seeing all the hate for like Britney & BSB.. it was insane. It was ridiculous! Ridiculously insane, or insanely ridiculous? All of the above, lmao. How downright depressing to realize that there are ppl out there with such negative attitudes.. I pity them, really. It's one thing to simply dislike something.. but the spreading of hate? & hateful opinions? THAT I take offense to. But what can ya do, right..

And heyheyhey, you never kno! She might have a world tour someday, she already travels it a lot as it is, and maybe someday you might come to the US too, anything could happen! Think postive!!

Oh, I know, one of the first fandoms I came into when I first got online was for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was fine, but that led to being a fan of Michelle Trachtenberg, that attracted a fair few haters, but without that fandom, I'd never have met a friend online who gave me the basis to build my web sites, the site she helped me build is still around too, altho the domain has gone because it was lost in several host changes, but we got new ones and even more of them, check it out, this is the current incarnation [link] Hmm, must be about time for another redesign of that site too...

LOL, I am positive, positive it'll never happen, but that's life, I'm used to it Even if she did make it here, I'd never be able to get the tickets, most bands don't come this far south in the country...

Pfft, I will not have your negativity- anything CAN happen! Regardless, it's never too soon to start saving up a "monehs to stalk my favorite stars" fund which helps in covering various transport expensives like trains, buses, etc & so on.. hehehe. I'm not big on travelling in general but I *will* go most anywhere within travelable distance (ie, most of this side of the US, lol) if it means getting to see Backstreet Boys..

I remember Dawn! I didn't get why ppl hated her too.. I mean, sure, she randomly comes out of nowhere, & was a bit annoying sometimes, but.. I think she still became a true part of the cast just as much as the others, and I liked the way her & Buffy's "sisterly" bond develops.. Gah, I seriously need to rewatch Buffy, I haven't seen the show in so long now! S4 & 5 were my fave seasons, altho 1/2/3 were good too.. tho personally 6 is where it began tanking & by 7, it was just painful to watch.. I think (like most of my fave drama shows, heh) I'm more of a "fanon" fan than anything! (love the characters & their potential.. but the story writing & the way certain things ended up, not so much)

Saving is hard... Especially in this economic climate... The best I can do is try to save enough to go to a con once a year and hope there's someone good there...

Me either I was a little curious when she turned up, but I thought it was an awesome idea once we knew all the facts. As for Buffy, I've loved it since the beginning (I even loved the movie!) Altho I did think they lost their way with Dawn in season 7, but she made a bit of a comeback in the season 8 comics... And yeah, the story writing suffered in S7, I think Joss was a bit stretched and it showed.

SimbiAni In reply to OracleX7 [2010-10-17 08:57:12 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I've never been to a con yet & probably never will, those are definitely nowhere near & will never be within my price range, heh. Talk about needing a BIG budget! I think I'm cool with just finding other ppl's pics & vids online from them since it's the closest I'll ever get..

And you kno what's REALLY ironic that I'm just realizing right now?! There is a Comic Con happening in my capital city, literally less than an hour away, where the actors who play SPIKE, Xander, Cordy, Tara, etc & a few others, are all at this weekend! But I 1. found out too late 2. have RL issues keeping me stuck in my current location busy dealing with them atm 3. probably couldn't have afforded it anyways. Eh well. I read about it on Twitter & was like, "WHUT- why are you guys in Boston?! OMG!" lol.

But yeah, just going to concerts doesn't really cost much at all, at least compared to something as huuge as cons? One show (tickets + travel) is like the equivalent of a few trips to a fast food place! Just don't go for a few months or so, & voila, you have the funds! (that was just one example, it can also be applied to anything else that costs money but isn't absolutely needed)

And the luck part with meeting them comes from just simply hanging outside the venues &/or hotels, before & after the shows, etc. which also doesn't cost anything. Do you have travel buses like Greyhound? They often have great deals. I don't stay in hotels when I travel either, just crash in the bus stations or whatever until the next ride home. The life of a poor fangirl..

OracleX7 In reply to SimbiAni [2010-10-25 10:17:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, the cons I go to are just a two hour drive away, and are only NZ$35 off to get in (usually like NZ$200-NZ$400 for all the things I buy LOL). As far as I know we have 3 full size cons a year here in New Zealand, two in like March/April (ooh, must book time off for next years one...) and one in Oct, they do manage to get some great guests sometimes [link] that's the website

Really?? Cheap over there then, most concerts are like NZ$50 for bad seats, up to NZ$120 for good seats, and add on top that a lot never come this far south in the country and so there's plane trips involved for me, which adds on a hundred or two dollars... Outta my reach...

No, I use my own car to get to things like the cons, only costs like NZ$50-NZ$60 for fuel, and I crash at a friend's place up there But yeah, sometimes the buses have alright deals

Plane fares are always ridiculous! I've only ever been on a plane once- well, like three times in the same day- & it my first time ever, all because I got "second row" seats to see Backstreet Boys- the closest I would have ever been!- but it was in DALLAS! (Texas, so from Boston, MA.. flying was the ONLY option!) But 1. it was their "Up Close & Personal" tour, so it was more intimate already than their previous shows up to that point, and 2. when I got there? there was no Row A.. so it ended being ~front row!

But since it involved taking a plane at the last minute, I literally spent every penny from my savings for the past few years just to afford getting there & back, lol. And I've never taken a plane anywhere since! Buuut that trip did have a happy ending, altho I didn't get to meet the ~group.. I had gone back to the airport & crashed until the next plane home; when I was half-asleep going thru security, it turned out, my favorite BSB member was in line behind me! He was flying home (to another state) to be with his family on his day off. I didn't ask for a picture but I got to say hi to him & that was just the best thing ever for me!

Still can't believe that was 5yrs ago already.. oy how time flies!

OHH you're in ~NZ? For some reason, I thought I'd read ~AU there somewhere.. oy. Yeah, I guess that would be kind of an annoying catch to live with- beautiful country, yet next-to-no visits on "world" tours of fave artists! Except you still get cons.. so that's still nice! I checked out that link, and it seems they just had one with Stargate pplz? I love Stargate!

The last time I checked the plane fares were reasonable given what is involved, it's teh fuel tax and departure taxes that make it insane. I've been on a plane twice, once to fly to Wellington (our capital) and once back again (went to see Star Trek The Exibition) ... Front row? Awesome!!

I was lucky that just before the exibition I got given some money (technically for school books, but I'd already got them at the time ) Did take a fair amount of my savings to pay for the souvinears...

LOL, yup, altho a lot of people think they're the same country ... A fair few musicians do play concerts here, just usually in one location, Auckland, the largest city in the country... Yeah, I just wish I could get to the other two rather than just the one I can get to... Yup, the Auckland Armageddon, I heard they were having Ben Browder, I tend to not pay attention to any guest list other than Christchurch since otherwise I'd want to go to them more LOL, looks like they'll have SG:A's David Hewlett and BSG's Katee Sakhoff at next years con, can't wait for that

LOL YES!! STiLL cannot BELiEVE it happened!! (and more than once in the same day!) Just another reason I love living so close to NYC, anyways (if you can call 4-6hrs away "close" haha, but yea ) ie, being able to just jump on a bus & go down there!

AND he teased about maybe coming back to Chuck, fyi! I think he would really LOVE to do it, but of course it's up to the writers, but just so you kno, as far as Matt Bomer is concerned, he is VERY open to it happening!

And can I just say, the two of them- Sel & Matt- are truly just some of the most nicest, most humble stars you will ever find, honestly I swear, they couldn't be more thankful for the fans they have and they really do try to make you feel special even if you're just one of many, lmao seriously!
