Description I gave her a more Trek like outfit. This one is a low setting render(higher settings take for frigging ever) but VirtualDub mangles the quality when converting jpg to gif anyway.

Gifs are generally reduced to 256 colors by default, in most programs, to be compatible with the internet.
I expect this may be what you are experiencing.

Yeah I was thinking I saw something like that in the settings. Thanks for the tip   I've tried a few programs lately but VirtualDub is still my favorite for video related stuff. It's free, simple & works well generally.

VirtualDub is a good program. I still have a copy of it in my own virtual toolbox.
