I was all like "Dude, why are suddenly all these people faving this"? and then I saw some guys complaint about a DD and thought "whu? that's the first time I received a comment that was meant to go somewhere else" but then slowly realized what had actually happened!

Huzzah! Congratulations^^ I think it's awesome when DD is given based more on the thought and concept behind a piece than the artistic aspect (which is also really nice here). I like this a heckuva lot more than a lot of DDs that are given out.

Do you have any clue on what makes the guy behind the window look flat? I dunno, I'm looking at it and I can't really figure it out - sometimes you just can't spot something until someone points it out.

Well, the buildings need a little work. Perhaps some weathering, etc. And the man behind the window looks a bit odd. The salad dog's face looks a little odd. Just to fit in with the cartoony feel, emphasize her eyebrows. Also, I would have thought it'd be rather tricky to stand up at a point like that. Oh well.

Mm, I was debating with myself over whether the standing up pose was actually possible and if I should have let him stand on the table or the seat (the original sketch was a mix between the two), but I decided not to, simply to make the picture more condensed, and to not move away the two characters faces too far from each other... I think if I'd have moved the character up more, looking at the picture you wouldn't have realised why salad girl is embarassed as quickly.
I agree about the weathering, that would have increased the look quite drastically. I need to practice drawing buildings A LOT more.
About emphazising salad girl's eyebrows, I guess you're right. I usually draw eyebrows, but I left them out this time because all the characters had their hair covering them quite a lot. I dunno, I guess I should try and see how it would come out.

The dinosaur still in the plastic packaging makes the picture. I love the whole thing--especially that she's having a salad so you know she's already not into the whole fast food thing and now he's being weird. Did I say weird? I meant cool. Totally cool.

Yeah, I thought giving her just a salad would show that she was already a bit uncomfortable being at the fast food place, although I originally did it because the character just seems like a very serious person and rather concerned about her health...

At first sight, you may think "Fry-King Leeroy, the XVIIth", by ~omega5ooo, is not the best choice to be featured with a Daily Deviation, but the more you look at it, the more you like it.
Personally, At first sight, I DID think this was a great choice for a DD! <3 Hahah I could totally see that moment happening. Great job! I love the guy by the windows expression! A favorite for sure!
but I was very put off by the description on the feature. In particular the line "And you don't need to have awesome artistic skills" because I feel you do have awesome artistic skills.
