Description First and foremost...

My old artwork is available now through the Stash option here on DeviantArt: sta.sh/2281m9q19kqu

I long promised before a couple tuts: to put some light about my knowledge on the digital side of this stuff. Lately, more dA buddies are getting into using software to put together their pieces or using tablets to outline their previously handmade drawings and give them new life.

This very first "tutorial" (I'm using this term lightly) mostly shells out 3 basic steps I do myself in order to turn my old artworks or my new ones from paper into the digital media you find regularly on this gallery. If you used Adobe Illustrator before or Photoshop you'll probably be familiar with the tools I mention here.

If something isn't clear for you in the tut, you can always message me. I'm more than eager to help others!

EDIT: Noticed some typos here and there. Will update when I'm alive again.

Notes:

> Sorry for the Zip instead of the image, I haven't done this for a while and I don't know how to submit a different image for download (I recall it being easier before).
> A new tutorial will sport a simple coloring technique for the artwork done on this first one and the final colored piece will be submitted as a proper deviation.
> The original image of Roll I made more than a decade ago (that we used for this tut) can be found on my Stash now: sta.sh/02999o0cj2po

* Feedback is always more appreciated than *

No me cuesta admitirlo.

Thanks! Those are what I started with long time ago.

People have been asking me to remake them with my current skill.

Interesting, but do you really have too?
They look good enough and don't really need a remake if you ask me, but that's up to you to decide.

They probably just want to see them updated.

I'm not against it, but they're not priority with so many new things I can bring to the community.

Oh, I didn't know that you use adobe illustrator, too! No wonder your art looks so good!

I do! As you see, I make my drawings on paper and them bring them to life on Illustrator.

But I'm pretty much more advanced now than I was before so my drawings aren't as awful as the one I used to make this tut.

Still, I rather vectorize and fix to upload something people will find more agreeable. I'm no artist, so, I need to get behind graphic design tools to complete my work.

I see. But, I think it is still art.

Thank you. If you consider muy robots: these old drawings account for my beginnings!

I was even quite young back then...
