I also think it looks great on girls, although it was designed as a general armor for anyone who becomes one of the four knights of the queen's / king's guard.
However, after wearing for about two days while marching around, I heard to of the knight-girls (that year, 3 of the 4 guardians were girls) saying:
'does it hurt your boobs too?' Answer: 'No because I dont feel them anymore.'

That's always a problem with unisex armour, unless it's something flexible like chainmaile.

My queen once the both of us guarded the gates to the kingdom.
As sisters-in-arms we stood with pride in the color of the crown.

A protector of our realm with that heavy crown upon your head.
