Description ... House for sale! Not haunted at all!

I love Halloween. It's possibly my favourite time of the year (or, as I'd call it, "The most wonderful time of the year.") It's not possible to just stand idly by and watch people come up with really cool Halloween related arts and crafts while I sit on my hands. No, no!

If you are the Trick-or-treating type, be careful out there while you are having fun. And watch out for that little rickety house at the end of the alley with the boarded-up windows, yes?

P.S.: Darnnit, I got too busy and completely missed the deadline for the Fan-art Mash-up event. Oh, well. I'll make sure it gets done anyway. It just means I won't have a shiny new badge to show for it, that's all. But for everyone out there who is waiting... I haven't forgotten yet!

I know it supposed to be haunting, but it's so soothing at the same time. Maybe it's because the well-tought-out composition. I can even imagine hanging it on my wall.

I am really glad to hear that!
I think this is the first time I have heard of this project described as "soothing". But I like that description. You are the first one to agree with me, this house may not be haunted at all!

Thank you so very much for your very kind words!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrigamiAround In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2017-12-07 15:54:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, there might be a small tension in it, which comes from the slightly distorted lines of the house - as far is I think.
And yet the composition is superb, the precise forms, the tricolor base... but at this point, I think I just started to repeat myself.

I should check your gallery more often.

Keep up the great work!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to OrigamiAround [2017-12-08 05:22:46 +0000 UTC]

There is a little bit of cartoonish exaggeration in the composition, so the house is "bulged out" in the middle. That's why some of the lines appear to be bent and distorted. It helps to make parts of the house appear a little more endearing (and less haunted... ) I am really happy to know that you like this piece! And I am honoured to know that you would want to check out my work more often. I hope to always have something new for you to see every time you visit!

Thank you for your encouragement!

Very nice my friend How much is the house going for?

Oh I will be careful! There is a reason I carry a gun!.. never know when those zombies and skeletons will come for ya on Halloween I would still have to run from a werewolf though. I don't have any silver bullets! The Yankee Marshal is right to carry silver bullets with him!
Well I would run from the other two as well but it would be more of a tactical retreat

This is really awesome though man "Spooky Scary Skeletons" started going through my head when I saw this

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Loffy0 [2017-10-20 04:21:31 +0000 UTC]

You're the second person asking me about buying this house. Do I write -that- good of a sales pitch?

I'd say to carry the silver bullets... but damn, silver is way to expensive these days. What you might want to do is to take a knife and cut a cross into the led tip of an unjacketed round. Lead is usually soft enough to cut into with a sharp knife. And hey, a blessed round oughta do some damage to them werewolves. It might not sting as badly as silver, but it's better than nothing!

I didn't know that was a song!
I had the Addam's Family theme stuck in my head during the production of this one, though! Love that show!

Thanks a lot for supporting me and supporting this work. Much appreciated!

Never said I would buy the cursed thing!

Well silver plated is enough! That is a good idea in the mean time though I have no lead hollow points, or lead tipped ammo. I would only want lead tipped for hunting and I have not gone hunting with my pistol.. yet Maybe I should take my defense ammo and dip it in holy water I need to look and see what round it is that the Yankee Marshal carries, I can't remember if he lists it in these lol

Fair enough! But hey... since multiple people have asked me about how much the property is... you can't blame me, can you?

Oh, yeah! That would do, too! I just didn't know they actually make those things, you know? Wouldn't they be quite a bit more expensive than the normal copper-jackets? As for holy water... yeah, that might work, too. I have a bottle of it at home from a Church in Montreal where a bona fide saint used to live. I guess that's not half bad, is it? And awww... look at that puppy!

I remember the Addams Family from when I was a kid. I never really got to watch the TV show, but the movie came out not long after I came to Canada. Always loved that song... it's funny and quirky and instantly recognisable. Can't go wrong with it! And thanks for the song! What else is in your "combat mix"?

Thanks a million!

Not one bit! Maybe you would be a good salesman! Your capable of being highly self destructive right?

Me neither until I saw him with the silver bullets I would think so! I need to see if there is a reason for the silver jacket
Oh nice Thats cool!
Haha yeah, I didn't know the gunshop he goes to has a store puppy lol. When I saw that I had to include it too

Ah ok. Hmm I didn't know they had a Adam's Family movie!
Oh you had heard the song? Ikr? Its so catchy lol.
Uhh a lot Some folk music, some hip-hop, and as much fast tempo jazz as I can find

Your welcome

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Loffy0 [2017-10-25 01:40:02 +0000 UTC]

I -am- a good salesman, dude. I just don't sell normal things.
I have to convince people they should take their medication, quit smoking, get that surgery done... I do lots of sales!

If you find out more about those silver-jackets, definitely let me know. This is the first time I've seen anything like that!
In the meantime... a local optometrist have a "store puppy", too. He's quite a bit bigger, though (a Golden retriever mix). A game shop I used to go to has two "store kitties." I am still surprised that they haven't bitten anyone yet...

Oh, they had 3 Addams' Family movies! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adda… (I've only watched the first two.) And it is so very catchy! I have two recurrent earworm songs. One of them is the Addams' Family song, and the other one is the "Tales From the Crypt" theme www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae5Xwk… Both very catchy! Folk is good. Jazz is great, too. And sometimes it's nice to play to hip-hop... sometimes. I approve of the list!

That is a very good point Hmm like we have discussed, there is a lot of self destructive behavior in the medical field too hmm. Good point you are more like salesman than I would of though My brother used to be a salesman and OMG the sales industry is filled with self destructive people

For sure! I want to get some to fight off werewolves with
Oh cool I do not know any stores around here that have store pets like that
Haha were the cats that wild?

Oh nice
Forgive me if I do not watch that video I don't want to get it stuck in my head lol.
Oh why thank you for the approval! I totally needed it! jj I will send you a list of the songs if I get a chance

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Loffy0 [2017-10-25 06:05:22 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I wouldn't be surprised! You have to lie through your teeth on a regular basis and call on everything that's holy under the sun in order to make the sale. It's no wonder that some folks get really self-destructive. Then again... I can speak from first-hand experience. My dad's family are all business people. I've been working for them since I was in high school. I told you... I know sales. I just don't sell normal stuff.

Yeah! Let me know so I can do the same!
Well, the cats weren't wild. But they are very... cat. As in, they don't like being touched or petted. But a lot of people will try anyway. The black one meows to complain and the white one... well, she just up and slinks away. Just being cat, you know?

Oh, no worries. Like what I said before the links are there if you want to see them or not.
And yes, please!

Yeah, that and that whole weird competitive atmosphere they always had going on, there was so much pressure to make more and more and more money. It was all about what have you done for them lately, because if you were not making them as much money as someone else could, they mine as well fill your seat with someone else who can make more.
You say that like I didn't believe you lol I know what you mean though. I honesty rather be a doctor than a salesman any day! At least there your actually doing some good lol.

Wouldn't it make the most sense to get a silver blade at this point considering you need to go through some paperwork and a training coarse and stuff to get a firearm? I don't blame you though, silver bullets are cooler
I know exactly what you mean hehe. Tasha does that bit where she slinks around, like she's being all sly and sneaky lol, but not to avoid being touched, just to be cat like

Copy

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Loffy0 [2017-10-25 13:46:20 +0000 UTC]

It really -is- very competitive as a sales. And thanks to people like Glengarry Glen Ross, the top-down people feel like they are paying for performance without taking in consideration that they are also the livelihood of those who need that salary. What they don't understand is that when most people are without a job, nobody has spare change to for them to make a sale. It's basically a negative feed-back loop. I think that's why I got out of the sales game and early. Of course, I am still selling "Quit smoking", "cut down drinking" etc to people. So I guess my skills aren't being wasted...

Well... it actually doesn't. Silver is awful expensive these days. A gram of silver used to cost at least 1/6 of today's price. I can't afford a silver blade! Besides... I'm no kung-fu master. I don't want to get -that- close to anything that I need a blade to take down. Distance beats claw marks, you know.

Exactly! She's just being... cat. And while I understand that the cats love the store (which is a converted attic, lots of nooks and crannies for them), the people sometimes spook them out. Can't blame them, though!

Loffy0 In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2017-10-28 05:51:12 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah Between how my brother got, the stories, and all the salesman movies lol, I have an intimate understanding of the sales game I did't think I would of had.
Speaking of which when you say "Glengarry Glen Ross" all I can think of is the movie lol.
Yeah, or I have always thought, the fact that they are there kind of lends to the possibility that they don't care that they dealing with peoples lively hood. If they were able to do it, there is no reason their underlings can't, the strong survive, the whole thing.
Hey well that gets your salesman fix in theory, but without the self destruction

I did not mean solid silver (its too soft a metal for that I would think anyway) but it would be more doable at least right now to get a silver plated blade, or maybe silver tipped crossbow bolts.
Haha good point! Science to the rescue!!!!

Oh man that must be nice for them yeah lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Loffy0 [2017-10-29 01:59:08 +0000 UTC]

It's not a fun game, to say the least.
And yes, the "Glengarry Glen Ross" -is- a movie reference. "Always be closing", apparently, is the law of the game. And what a game it is... so much that I never want to play again.

I don't have a salesman fix... it's just a set of acquired skills. If I don't have to use them I wouldn't be sorry, really.

Silver isn't a particularly soft metal. Gold, on the other hand, is. There has been a number of silver weapons that has survived hundreds of years out there. And silver knives and cutlery are still very serviceable. Silver-plating makes things easier, that's for sure. With the price of silver these days, all we can afford is the plated stuff! And yes... the longer the distance, the fewer the claw marks!

Oh, yeah. The cats actually love the place. They just don't always like the people in the place...

ABC, A always B be C closing, always be closing. ALWAYS BE CLOSING>.. yeah i know the deal Ok, so all you were doing was referencing the movie? I was not sure if that was a real firm back in the day.
So what did you do when you were in the shit?

Ah ok fair enough. Hey I understand not wanting to have to use it but in the real world, just think of it as a good non violent way to get yourself of of some situations or in your case get folks to actually understand why they should do something.. other from that, just try to enjoy the power I would say (though that may be the liquor )

Good point. I was thinking of it as soft in the same way I think of copper as "soft" like it does not damage a steel barrel on a gun Good point though.
Good luck! It being Halloween, lets just say my drinking time makes me slightly uncomfortable considering I have to go unarmed

I can imagine I cannot blame them! I am ot a fan of humans myself

Hey semi offtopic, but you heard of CupHead??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Loffy0 [2017-10-30 00:48:57 +0000 UTC]

I didn't know if there was a firm by that name or not, either. But I wouldn't be half surprised if there was. I mean, those firms are always named like someone cut it out of a phone book or something... What did I do when I was in the sh*t? That depends on which kind of sales job I was in, I guess. Some sh*t is a bit worse than others. And some sh*t is bad enough... that you just pack up and leave and pat yourself on the back...

It's good to know how to negotiate, because it's hard to get people to do what you want them to do. And some habits die hard.
In the meantime... hey, liquor! What are you drinking?

Now... copper -is- a soft metal. Softer than silver, that's for sure. But... when it comes to scratching the barrel... heck, I don't know where silver lies on the spectrum. You better ask the guy with the silver bullets! But yea... drinking and guns don't mix. I guess you can't have it all, can you?

Cuphead? Isn't he a character from some game? Not super familiar with him, but I've heard of him.

Loffy0 In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2017-10-30 07:16:34 +0000 UTC]

Fair enough haha. They really do.
Well I meant more like what job did you have? What kind of job was it, what part of the sales industry, like mortgages, loans?? I take it it was mostly through family or?

Haha for sure!
Lol funny transition I was just drinking some low quality rum mixed with koolaid. Still tastes good I say

Actually I just looked it up and the hardness of copper is greater than silver. Not by much but silver is not as hard.
Yeah, regardless of hardness, we know its softer than steel so that is prolly why it causes no issue Wonder why you would use it over copper though yeah
Haha yeah not really!

It is, the game is named after him. Its a super hard side scrolling platformer bullet hell lol. Never thought I would like a game like this Some how my friend James and I were able to beat the first level and first two bosses while both pretty damned drunk haha. Idk if that says something good or not It took us quite a while though
The animation style is badass though! Its done like a 40s cartoon and does not look digital at all really! Its amazing! Look it up

Lawyers do the same thing. Every law firm sounds like a cut-n-paste ransom letter cut out from the phone book...
Oh, that! Well... what did I have to sell... When I was working for my dad, we sold sunglasses, purses, other novelty trinkets... usually wholesale, but we do, once in a while, have some retail. We used to participate in an annual community garage sale. So that's totally retail. The strangest thing I have to "sell" is probably when I was working as a receptionist in this language school. They had a new course that teaches people how to pass a college entrance exam. I had to sell -that- package to the people who call in to ask!

I guess our liquor taste runs a bit differently, then. Not that it's a bad thing, mind. But I've always found rum to be a tad too sweet.

Copper -is- harder than silver? Well, shucks. I just checked and you are right. Mohs 3 vs Mohs 2.5 I guess I was thinking about something else, then. But... that -is- a great question. Why would you ever need silver jackets instead of copper ones? Copper is easier to use, to find and to make than silver ones. Maybe we used to have a lot more werewolves in the past!

Sure, will do!
I heard a lot of nice things about the animation style of Cuphead. That's probably the first thing that came to mind when you asked. The game play never entered my head! (yeah... pardon the pun... )
