Description I can't be too stingy with what I share.. I do haveto get back on pace to hit 256 speedpaints. Which I am very far behind at. Anyway, I had a mini-speedpaint-battle with a friend, the topic was "indoor pool environment". I think the ceiling is probably too dark, I don't do enough interiors, so I need to start doing more. Painter 9.

I think you've got the balance of light right... Not a great deal of light would reach those top corners of the room in the real world judging from the shape of the glass ceiling panels. There are subtle reflection of blue from the pool on the ceiling, I think you have done an exceptional job.

i certainly think you got the lighting just right. when i look at this picture, i am reminded of those rooms lighted with sunlight - they are so bright that you might as well be outside. this speedpaint is excellent! D D

thats cool, i dont understand this speedpainting thing, it just seems like thumbnailing to me before id sit down and finalise a design/painting. i love painter aswell, i started with photoshop but painter is much more intuitive and so much quicker. anyway keep up the great work

Yea, painter is definitely the most intuitive. I'd say speedpainting has alot to do with creating the illusion of details with loose and obvious strokes. Granted, I'm not very good at it, but the pros can certainly turn speedpainting into something much more interesting to look at than something tightly done.

It's just alot of small things mainly. The color pallete makes changing colors fast, the hotkeys and controls feel more intuitive, and I like the brushes. Overall, I just can work faster in painter.

really? Actually for me it's vice versa! The controls in Painter are totally confusing...
seems it depends on which prog you get to know first...

no you did good with how dark the ceiling is, it really creates the sense of space and environment. If it were lighter... no it wouldn't look so bitchen.
Super good work yo!

I think it looks good. Yea, the cieling looks too dark, and the water looks a bit murky but..ya know. decent job for a speed paint.
