Description Final image done for episode 6 of my Design Lab youtube series. The topic for this episode was Female Mage, fantasy character setting. The face was repainted after the video, so that's slightly different.

Thumbnail concept submitted by lewdOoze on youtube.

Commentated creation video can be watched here: [link]

Done in Painter 12 using mostly the thick & thin pen.

I bugs me that the dark ring around her legs doesn't go over her knees...

Decent bro.
But damn did I dislike the guys work you chose. I still think the unpronounceable named russian guy at the end had the best looking form/style.
Armor looks a lil flat. Jack up the speculars and contrast, but I'm sure you're well aware of this. Hindsight is 20/20

colours and brush strokes are lovely, but i feel like there should be more detail to the armour

Hey Sinix, gourgeous painting!
Although I think you need to work on your materials rendering. There isn't much contrast on the metalic armor and I think it would be nice to explore some of the reflections of the red feathers on the armor.
What do you think? Also, I wanted to ask you: I'm using Painter 12 but the appearance of the interface when resizing brushes is different from yours (yours is more like painter IX). How do I get it to be like that? 'Cause the new interface is very laggy.
Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Agree 100% on the armor. I'm going to go in and do some photo ref studying of that type of stuff soon. As for the interface, I hated the default Painter 12 one as well, it's very laggy. All you have to do is go to Edit -> Preferences -> General... there will be a box called "use legacy brush resizing"... check that box and it will make it the faster old way again.

I personally love the anatomy that you have. Proportions and all. The style has so much energy, and has been a good inspiration to my art. Loved the Design Lab!

Love your videos and attitude, but I have to agree with the comment below. You've messed up the legs/feet The far leg is awkwardly twisted and the feet are both too small. The hands as well for that matter.

your technique is good, but you definitely need to work on your proportions! Make note of this!

I'm always happy to take note of comments! I've been struggling with my gesture thumbnails lately (which are a good monitor of proportional accuracy). It's something I do need to keep up on.
