Madelene often visited the orphanage that Jack lived in , and once or twice stayed late into the night under the kindly eyes of the matrons to tell the children bedtime stories that always lasted longer than the elderly carers had constitution for. Of course Jack would help out, most of the time with very animated story telling...I guess this is a revisit or improvement of:
I just wanted to put across that despite being put in a orphanage, Jack didn't really have a bad childhood. in fact he quite enjoyed himself, rooting through trash heaps for dribs and drabs of mechanical things and spending the rest of his time with Maddy.
What more could a boy want?

Another awesome work of yours
The darkness of the night comes out great by the colors you used. The shadows look wonderful and i love how the light touches the faces. You also mentioned the reflection of the bed and the window in the background.
Maddies eyes seem to glow, while she tells the story to the kids.
Jacks fluffy hair got great and i love his face!

Storytelling with wacky expressions combo works really great with the kids! (I should know XD)

I just wanted to say that I'm really loving the comic, btw. I have been looking for a really great steampunk comic, and they've all fallen short. This is exactly what my brain wanted. Am jello I didn't come up with it first, of course, but adoring it so far. ^_^ And am in luv/lust with Jack. Last night I kept sending links of the pictures to my friend @verilyvexed and she agrees (and she's very picky about art so feel honored as crap lol).

aw man everyone in this pic looks so sweet and cute. i love little kids. i saw SO MANY little kids on my bus ride home yesterday and now im all amped up to draw and write pieces with little children in them XDD
