[[UPDATE: Added Piggy =]!! Please comment, it helps me grow as an artist!]]I noticed i had created a Gir wallpaper once before and it has over 500 veiws.. yet it is so badly done i cant beleive anyone even liked it at all. so i decided that now i have 3ds Max 2009 through work (now i shall openly brag that i work for them) haha! i have gone ahead and tried another render of him. ENJOWY!!

Mental Ray renderer inside of 3DS Max.

3DS Max really is the best 3D renderer. I had the pleasure of using it in Drafting class.

I was taught in Cinema 4D which I have gone back to. I prefer 3DS MAX for rendering but I prefer Cinema 4D for modelling. Not entirely sure why but I think it is because I started out with it so I am sticking with first preference. If they were the same in that respect, I would have gotten a copy of MAX recently in stead of C4D.

That's pretty sweet. The only things I can think is that GIR doesn't have lights on his hands, and his eyes could be sticking out a little more, but other than that, this is pretty damn kewl.

hmm. thats true.. i was going to make him have that giant grin with his eyes bulging and him waving really quickly.. but i thought.. ill save that for later.. depending on how this one goes. thankyou for the constructive crit much appreaciated! and also.. of corpse.. for the favouriting ^_^!

Okay, im going to give you a real critique so maintain zen lol. First off, the models are pretty cool but very low poly, low poly isnt bad, i like low poly...but you could a little more depth to things if you added a few more polys here and there. Second, the pig loogs really sweet lol, that shit makes me laugh. Thirdly, okay the glow, i dunno, I like it but it could be better, mainly if you made the scene a bit darker perhaps, i dunno if you have default lighting on or not but it seems like you do. I do vray so its a little diff for me but i think just doing mental ray you can make it more glowy and less light pretty easy i think there is actually a glow setting. another option since this isnt an animation is video post, I think that would have a really great effect on this cus you would get a more genuine glow pretty easily on gir's parts. theres tons of tutorials if you dont know about video post in max. Finally, maybe making gir slightly more reflective and using caustics so you got some reflection off his glowing parts. But he still looks sweet those are just things to consider. Keep it up.

haha nawww thankyou! when it was just Gir.. i showed a friend of mine and he said ".....MAKE PIGGY!!" so i added him.. i showed him it with piggy.. than he said to me ".....cool.. cool......NOW MAKE MOOSE!" hes so annoying
