It was a very useful tutorial but if you have VRay you can produce the same effect probably quicker (certainly easier at least)

With some more playing around with the textures, those pyramids would look awesome.

yeah i saw them around a lot and wanted to give it a go. I no longer own a copy of 3Ds max so i cant re do them now that i know what i need to do to improve. thanks mang <3

the 2009 package has integrated mental ray render now.. and it does cost a fair bit to own. i got mine through work though. i was working for autodesk.

i had a look around. its something to the effect of US $3,495.
than again.. i know many people who dont buy it and just download it. its such a huge program though.

yeah man.. its the industry's top and biggest software standard for 3D CAD, animation and design. i doubt many people i know who own it actually bought it though.. considering how much it is

haha its bloody amazing once you learn the keyboard shortcuts and the basic types of modeling. box modeling is fun, and i want to get better at it. and inverse kinematics.. bone structures and such. im going back to studying on those parts..im a little rusty

hell yeah, and the more you do the better you get. wish i was still working for autodesk.. there was a guy there who was brilliant with 3D and flash and programming.. i could of learned a lot from him!
