Description Just a small speed paint.

My beloved D&D half-elf, Emeralda the Mad shows us that my characters are not always stiff. She apparently dislocated her hip to do this move. She's a bit crazy.

Tools: Mouse, Paint Shop Pro 7

PS. Emeralda of Eberron is crazy, perhaps, but you should see her Pathfinder version...

Emeralda is a multiclass monstrosity with hilariously high constitution and diplomacy-skill focus. She prefers smuggling.

Usually...

She looks not unlike a character from an obscure early 90s fighter game that was only on commodore/amiga platforms...Janika the pirate elf girl from Elfmania. (as an indication of her obscurity there is NO fanart of her or that game on DA at all).

But this lass I like...I like a lot. I like the tattoo details.

Elfmania? Sounds familiar. I'm sure I've never played it though.

Haha, gotta love a dame with a cigar

She's not stiff per se, but the line of action still goes more-or-less straight up through the picture. Legs also bend a little more in extreme positions like this [link] [link] (gives a more curved look instead of the straight lines).
I'm also terrified of those tight pants, but now we're in nitpick territory

Please stop me if you feel like I'm badgering you. You just do such great work that I'd love to see become excellent. But if it's annoying, or you disagree, tell me to stuff it, and I will. Cheers

Heh. Emeralda is NOT a dame. And her pants are made of 100 % nymph skin.

(PS. I'm immune to badgering.)

Holy shit XD

Unfortunately, her body is in the way, so you can't see how much the leg curves/bends/insert right word here.

It's pretty straight in this case, Irina Kazakova has a really good hip opening (she can reach 300°)

Interesting modeling choice. Guess a sailor needs to stay limber. The drawing definitely looks alive, and the character has personality. Love all the little things on her, she looks the role of a pirate lass.

Thank you, and thanks for the watch.

(My D&D girls are all pretty flexible, but the guys? They're the dumb-the-Dex types. )

Shhhht. There's no watch, which watch? (damn, not stealthy enough)

I once had a D&D guy. I dumped con on a barbarian because of a misunderstanding in how a feat worked.
Since then I've been the DM for ages.

I've never actually played a real role-playing game, but I use campaign settings and rules as my sources of inspiration when I design new characters. It's all science. In the name of art.

RadicalEdward84 In reply to SirTiefling [2012-07-25 16:09:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that's weird.
It's a good thing, anyways. D&D-like manuals are a lot better books than they are play aids.

"Dislocated hip"istä tuli mieleen, että mahdatko lukea Escher Girls -blogia? Siinä esitellään juuri erilaisia anatomiaongelmia, mitä erilaiset piirroshahmojen "näyttävät" poseeraukset saavat aikaan...
[link]
Sinun piirtämilläsi hahmoilla ei näytä mitään anatomiaongelmia olevan.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SirTiefling In reply to Sotkettu [2012-07-22 15:43:49 +0000 UTC]

Tai ehkä onnistun piilottamaan anatomiaongelmat hyvin. Taidetta se sekin.

Tuota blogia en ole aiemmin nähnyt. Pitäneepä katsoa tarkemmin.

Sotkettu In reply to SirTiefling [2012-07-22 18:02:57 +0000 UTC]

Given that some women can do the splits I think your pose is clearly realistic at least for some people. No need for hip dislocation. Not a pose I could manage however.
