I HATE LUCIA.
Just so everyone knows, Lucia is probably one of the characters I loathe the most out of any series ever. There honestly isn't even one thing I like about her.

"But Sitar... If you hate her so much, why draw her?"
WELL I'LL TELL YOU WHY.
It actually stemmed from a conversation with a friend ( Pinki ) about DMC and I was going off about Lucia to her and then decided to try and see if there was any way I could actually make Lucia more appealing to me. Thus, this picture was born. Since we had been discussing possibilities for DMC5 and the future of the series I decided to try to draw a possible updated look for Lucia should she ever appear in any future games (hopefully NOT but still...). Keeping that in mind, I tried to design this on something that Capcom actually /might/ do. Prepare for a long explanation xD ;;

None of the women have long hair, Trish's is close but it's still not that long, and I really like extra long hair, and since Lucia had a braid thingy before, I combined those two elements together for this hairstyle. Plus I figured if they /were/ making the character, they'd actually need to be able to program the hair to move, and since long hair seems to be so difficult to do properly, this would make more sense for them to do. I did leave her some bangs covering the same side of her face as she had before though, to give it a similar look to her old design.

I actually kept Lucia's boots kind of similar to the original design, except I made them a bit more feminine and with a higher heel, and the color near the same since I wanted the outfit to have familiar elements since everyone else's updated clothes seem to follow that pattern as well. Her original boots had the double 'belt/buckles' on them, so I incorporated that into the rest of her outfit as well. I changed the gloves slightly but kept them relatively the same length, and I changed the holders for her throwing knives to be a bit more showy as well. Her arm has a couple of buckles but I couldn't decide if I should add more throwing knives like her legs have, so I opted to leave them empty for now. She has no holders for her swords because I liked the idea that she kept them in her boots for easy access xD

Her actual clothing was the hardest decision for me, I wasn't sure how similar I should keep it. In the end I decided to keep the tight pants tucked into the boots, and give her a more revealing top, especially since I hated her original outfit to no end. I also changed the color because I thought the light purple really stood out against her dark skin and hair and I didn't like the previous color. Her lips had previously been some weird light color so I kept them light, this time pretty much the same as her outfit. She has a white scarf on as a sort of throw back to her white cape-thingy she wore since everyone I asked about this for ideas begged me to get rid of the cape xD I hated it too, so I was glad to get rid of it.

Now onto the actual art details. I found a pose of some model that I really liked a while back, can't remember who I found it from, and used that as her pose, with some tweaking here and there ( direction she's looking, the arm positions, etc. ). Inked it as usual with that random black pen I found.
This picture I must say was actually my first time coloring something entirely on the computer. I think I did a pretty decent job for honestly having NO CLUE about the program I was using to color it xD It was a little strange trying to shadow and add highlights but I managed to do it, though I didn't do as much as I probably would have if I'd been doing it with pencils and markers. I did manage to get rid of a lot of the little 'white spots' on it and all, but I was having trouble getting rid of them entirely, as you can see in her hair and whatnot.

I do have just the lineart if anyone's interested in coloring it... Just message me if you want it xD

Anyways, if you actually LIKE Lucia, then I hope you enjoy my version of her, and if you're like me and you don't... well then, I hope you like the pic anyways, or at least didn't throw up from looking at it xD
