I use some custom brushes that I made myself a while back! Most of them mimic traditional tools (there are a few pencil-y ones and stuff) and a couple of them are bristly-textured and painterly (I use the painterly/textured ones for the base painting and the harder, pencil ones for individual strands of fur)
I have a few of them up here: sta.sh/21na7s9xjccy
Unfortunately they're Manga Studio only so they won't work in Photoshop or Sai or anything D:
