Description Fullview for details! ^_^

So the nearly invisible person in this is Roger, from Tamora Pierce's SOTL series. I decided to draw him in a rather dark/brooding kind of mood, since he's jut been raised from the dead... even more invisible is the doll. Guess which doll it might be?

I was trying to experiment with lighting in this one, specifically the sky and the direction of the light. It didn't really work, but meh.... I spent hours on it, so I should really upload it.

By the way, I don't know what's going on with the boots. They started out normal, and then they turned into pimp!shoes. Ah well, I suppose Roger would approve.

This is for [link] and their "Villains" contest. I thought about resubmitting my "Just Die Already" thing, but that seemed lazy.

Beautiful! Especially since having thought of a few good choices to play Roger in the movie-in-my-head, I'm a bit on a Roger kick. Though, I don't know what doll it would be.

Ooh, who did you come up with? It occurred to me that Purefoy from Rome who I mentioned would make a really good Roger... he can play the charming/evil scenes so well. might have swearing, being HBO... Starts properly at about 0.55, he's the guy leaning against the pillar.

Ah yes, I've seen Purefoy. I rather fancy Titus Welliver as Roger. [link]

Interesting... I can't see it myself, but I think that's because I usually run away screaming at the sight of a moustache.

I generally dislike facial hair too. Occasionally it's not a total turnoff.

(I have to qualify this: the one who is obsessed with spoons, not the one who gets killed by Sweeney...)

Spoons? I know not of this phenomenon.

Robin Hooood! "When I get hold of you I'm going to dig your heart out with a spoon!" "My lord, why a spoon?" "Because it's blunt, you twit, it'll hurt more!"

Oh oh, the nasty sheriff dude. I never saw Robin Hood, can't abide medieval nastiness. Pity though, were it not for the nastiness I'd like to see it once.

Ooooh, you should seriously watch it. It's not as nasty as all that, and it's wonderfully acted and scripted!

I forget exactly what I've heard, but I know I heard something about the torture that really bothered me. For some reason, medieval stuff bothers me far more than regular but more violent stuff.

Someday though, I may grow out of it.

I can't remember that much torture in it TBH... not compared to something like, say, Braveheart.

Bright-Circle In reply to sivvus [2010-07-08 14:48:48 +0000 UTC]

True, but sometimes it's not the quantity of the torture, but the quality.

Oddly enough, I'm always up for whipping. The only movie I ever saw whipping in (that I can think of) is in the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

HBO does a lot of whipping, but they're into the whole torture thing in a big way. It doesn't bother me so much TBH, but I think I'm kinda desensitised- I watched "Saw" when I was 11. For some reason it's chemical burns that get me- like in "Fight Club" with the hand/lye thing. *wince*

Ergh, Saw. You watch that Spartacus show, or Rome?

sivvus In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-07-09 14:11:38 +0000 UTC]

Both- also Tudors, where the torture really was awful. I don't do well with teeth.

Thanks! I kinda cheated with the colour scheme and just painted onto a red background. BTW, have you noticed that the emoticon looks like it's trying to stick its tongue into its eyeball?

PandaProtector In reply to sivvus [2010-06-17 20:08:20 +0000 UTC]

I don't consider that cheating. I consider it artistic.

And yes, I noticed that a long time ago and always found it rather strange. I'm surprised the person who designed that smiley didn't notice.

Yeah, I always thought it was odd... especially on an art website! Perhaps with all the custom emoticons they thought people would use another one.

PandaProtector In reply to sivvus [2010-06-17 20:54:39 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that one is awesome.

Obviously people won't use another one though because on every other website I use the , so here I automatically type , except the is a really weird icon which I only notice again after I post (except in this case I was aware of it).

Yaaay for three 's in one paragraph!

One per post.

It tends to work if you just type a random word, too.
