umm, well... for the fire twirling shots, i figured out (through trial and error) that about 6-8 seconds is best, so i set it to that, then because i want the background really dark, i go really tight aperture and low ISO setting, so that all you can really see is the fire and the ground being lit up, but i reckon to start off with, most cameras have a "shutter priority(S)" setting, that'll let you set the shutter speed but not have to worry about anything else

It was really scary at first. Cause I didn't get all the excess oil out so the flame was bigger than I expected and it was just like... woah. It was pretty cool though.

you should try really soaking the wicks but dont get rid of the excess . light it then throw it up in the air spinning the staff towards yourself... huge flame balls erupt and go into the air lol,
