well.. my mate in high school lived near this park, where every full moon there'd be hundreds of fire twirlers... So we decided to buy some fire sticks and go down, and i guess from then i was hooked I don't do it as often as i should anymore... for a while i was doing it 4/5 nights a week... but now i'm lucky if its 1 night every fortnight... i'm sure i'll get back into it when i have more time...

Oooooo woww... that paints such a pretty picture in my head... Damn, I need to learn a more impressive-sounding skill. Fire twirling is completely ruled out, though. (Total wimp)
Aw, that's a shame... Yeah you should so go and twirl more fire! MOAR I say! (and upload of course, so I can ooo and ah and be very impressed)

i usually use an 8 second shutter speed with a high aperture, but some of these pics have a 30 second shutter speed to get some of the sky visible... you should check them out thanks for the comment!, i should have some more pics like this uploaded by next week if you want to see more

i like the idea of having the sky there in the background would it not be as easy to do it just before sundown? i am looking at trying to get good focus on the fire with a second curtain sync to highlight me i have been using a 1 sec to 5 sec exposure time with mixed aperture settings look forward to seeing the new ones what are you spinning by the way staff?

yeah i think its a 40 inch staff with single wicks...

you're right, it would be just as easy to do it earlier as the sun is setting, but i like the sky to look a darker blue

cool i like the idea of the staff i used my poi for the first time while on holiday with some people who had a fire staff was great fun might even get one to learn with how do you learn to do it online vid/forum or with mates? sorry for all the questions and thanks for all the answers will post more of me when i get a day i can do it to windy here at the moment

well I'm a big one for teaching myself to do things.... For example I've taught myself to Fire Twirl, Unicycle, Juggle, Play Guitar, Piano, Ukulele, Piano Accordion.... ha-ha the list goes on. But i think you can find some flash clips online with some of the basic moves... after that you just make it up

don't know.. there hasn't been a good old vampire since The Lost Boys in the 80's.... and even then it was a bit of a stretch i like twilight too.. well enough that i'm a guy and was hooked enough to read the series. but the movie destroyed it.. and now the second movie... it just makes me never want to hear another thing about twilight again... but i know i'll go see it... but after i see it i'll abuse it haha
