This is an evocative piece. I like the fog and the moss. I would limit my criticisms to a few things (in no particular order). The first is the huts on the ground look a little too bulbous to be stable and it makes them look a little too cartoonish. Secondly the waterline seems a little ill-defined, so that the water in the foreground seems to curve up along the island whereas water should obviously be flat (if not flowing). Thirdly, it looks a little too clean to my eye whereas a swamp would seem to have a general blending of moss and muck.
I also am a little unclear on the perspective. It looks like the mushroom treefort to the left is roughly at the same distance as the tree in the middle, though the tree in the middle seems to have more fog concealing it. (I'm basing this on the rope bridge that seems to lead back from the treefort to the base of that finger of rock which then comes back forwards. It might also be even with the second hut, but the second hut seems to have little or no fog obscuring it.)
I like the waterfalls in the background because they draw the eye and give the piece a sense of depth, but it looks like waterfall to the rear pours down into a bowl and then that empties out at the end of the finger of rock under the tree. Since that finger has a lower point roughly middle of it's length, it seems like the water would naturally flow off there and so it kind of looks like the water has to flow uphill to reach the small waterfalls at the center of the picture.
The trees at the foreground seem too uniform in their coloration. They look moss-covered, but the moss is uniform in both color and covering and it seems like it would be mottled. There seems to be more detail in the background of the piece than in the foreground.
The best part of the piece in my opinion are the tree branches and trees in the background. These are well proportioned and ground the piece really well with an illusion of reality. Overall I think this is a nice piece that well establishes a sense of place and mood. You feeling for this village and its unseen inhabitants.
