Ellyra sat up on her bed, panting and glancing around erratically. The rough walls of the tavern room and the creaky bed underneath slowly brought her senses back. “It was just a dream” she thought. The morning light shone soothingly through a narrow window, casting uneven shadows on Ellyra’s disheveled bed sheets, now soaked with sweat. She sat on the bed, her bare feet touching the cold floor. Faint memory of her nightmare materialized in her mind: a shapeless ugly abomination stretching its slimy tendrils towards her, its touch lingering on her body, reaching underneath her fancy armor and getting more and more intimate, and her succumbing to its relentless violation, all the while the dirty peasants were right there, cruelly laughing at her demise… She felt her cheeks burning, her heart was beating frantically, drops of sweat trickled down her forehead. Her hand slid underneath her nightgown, between her thighs, only to find unmistakably warm dampness there. As her fingers made the first few caresses, the aftermath of the dream dissipated. “What am I doing?” Ellyra thought, clutching her head with her hands and feeling a sudden chill run through her body. “I can’t have been enjoying this… nightmare” And yet her body was betraying her will, longing for primal pleasure. Her way to the village was so long that she did not even remember when she had some company last time. A thought raced through her head that if one of those greasy drunkards had opened her bedroom door on her, she would have thrown herself on him just to satisfy this sudden insatiable desire… With a tremendous effort of willpower she rose from the bed and started getting ready for the day. She had to finish her mission and get out of the village, which was slowly but steadily starting to drive her insane.
