I absolutely love your depiction of the Graceys here. And I must agree, Master Gracey does look good with long hair kept in a little ponytail. I guess it would help Lillian drag him out of a store before he goes and jumps at those "Buy 1 Shrunken Head, get one free!" deals.

Hey, Lizzi, would you mind if I turned this pic into Facebook Flair? I've got the Flair bug and want to add this to my HM collection.

That's what you think! You may not realize it now, but you've helped unleash a monster! A lazy, obscure-reference-making, Hsien-Ko loving, lily-livered monster, maybe, but a monster nonetheless!

Beautiful picture! This is my favorite picture of Gracys. ^^
QUESTION!
When you claimed Lillian Gracey in the Disney Directory, is there a particular Haunted Mansion section, or did you just place your request under titles G-M? I was thinking of claiming a character from the ghost gallery too...
Thanks! ^^

Thank you~
Also, I claimed her under titles A-F, there's a section titled Disney Theme Park Characters.

Gee, how many wives did Master Gracy have? First Lilian (the circus performer), then Emily (both the original "No Face" bide & the now old beating heart bride), followed by Elizabeth (in the B-lister movie only), & possibly Constance Hatchaway (the axe-brandishing physco who has taken up Emily's place in the attic).

Oh, also, the "Master Gracey" in the movie was the wrong Gracey. The ride's master is George, in the movie, he's Edward.
According to the Ghost Gallery, Edward Gracey is the man standing on the barrel of dynamite in the stretching room.

That's why I don't consider the movie canon.
1. The movie stunk in terms of accuracy, the casting of actors, and the performance in general
2. The movie tried to end the Mansion's storyline, something that shouldn't be messed with

I don't count Elizabeth because, not only did I not really like the movie, they never officially married, and that would have been highly unlikely, as she was black, and they were living in Louisiana during the Civil War era. She would have, actually, been a slave, but they gave her a higher position in society, so that story is completely ridiculous.

Reminds me of the Disney film, Song of the South. Changing the times to make the film family-friendly is better than depicting people getting lynched, beat up, raped, and whatever. Yes, that stuff happened, but it's NOT Disney's fault that people WERE & ARE racist.
It is NOT Disney's fault that the company was showing how times WERE (in the 40's, blacks WERE considered inferior [Song of the South & Dumbo], in the 90's--with the issue of Saddam in power--Arabs WERE considered brutes [Aladdin], and in the time of the real-life Pocahontas, Native Americans WERE considered savages [Pocahontas]).
It is STUPID to take something based on historical fact--i.e. that those things aforementioned WERE wrong, although they were also considered normally commonplace back then--and call it racist by using TODAY'S politically correct bullcrap-on-a-stick standards, especially when the PC people bitch about the most asinine things (ex: calling old school Sesame Street "adult" & not for kids, just because of the time period).
If parents would just tell there kids that this was how things WERE, then the kids would turn out fine. But if the parents let society and the media control their children, then it should be no surprise when the kids turn out racist or what have you.
I mean, hell...we should worry more about the racism going on NOW, instead of bringing up the past. Yes, it's good to know about the past in order to change the future so the future ends up good, but it is foolhardy to dwell on the past and start blaming people's desendants for something that happened 100+ YEARS AGO!
I mean, yes, there WAS racism & there STILL IS, but making movies historically accurate is NOT racism. It's just a depiction of the times.
In short, historical accuracy and depictions of the past--which WAS considered normal by its standards--is NOT racism. Yes, the past was considered normal by its depictions, and as such, people should NOT be getting bent out of shape because of past misdoings.
It's like banning Huck Finn from libraries and bookstores because of the inclusion of Jim (the runaway slave who lives a carefree life and has a caring nature) and Huck's father (a raving drunken idiot)...History may have been bad, but in those times, such things were normal & so, there's no need to bash the past for what it was.
Yes, it was wrong and shouldn't have happened, but it happened, and that's all there is to it, for all we can do now is be kind to ALL manner of peoples, regardless of race, nationally, gender, lifestyle, or creed. It's just too bad that--with humans being imperfect--bias and racism WILL forever exist, due to difference of opinion.

Ahhh, this is gorgeous. <3 Lily looks so prettyyy~~ I love her dress (gaw, the lace <3) and hairstyle, like. Too muchh~~
And oh lawd. :'3 I totally support the idea of long sexy hair on guys. LOL, it's funny, because in real life, it sort of grosses me out unless it's near-perfectly managed (and not.. wiry? D8), but most of my favorite guy characters have long hair. x333
Verryyy nice. : DDDD

XD I agree on the long-haired guys thing. I really don't like it too much irl, but with cartoon characters it's totally fine(sometimes).
Her dress is actually loosely based on something I wore once. My school had this thing called the "Blue and Grey Ball" which all of the 8th graders did because we were learning about the Civil War. The boys all wore Union or Confederate soldier uniforms, and all of the girls were in big poofy hoop skirts and (totally unrealistic)corsets. My dress was purple and had lace sort of like that. It was actually really cool.
We had to learn how to waltz and everything for it. And now that I think about it, we all probably looked much like the ballroom ghosts in the Haunted Mansion when they were living XD

Oh my gosh. xDDD That sounds sort of humiliating, but I guess if everyone else was doing it, it wouldn't feel so bizarre.. Awesome that you got the dress, though. 8D It's so pretty~~ Lawl, it'd be pretty cool to live in the Mansion.. ;D Balls, parties, hangings, and all that jazz.

Well, it was humiliating to almost everyone but me. I really liked it, but I just really like old-fashioned things.
Living at the mansion would be totally cool. My friends and I actually used to talk about(and sort of roleplay) what it would be like to live there, and who would stay where...I might actually have video of us talking about it while on the ride XD
