Description I saw a couple of things like this floating around between instagram and twitter and I'm a sucker for bandwagons and drawing myself. Also I thought it'd be good practice drawing subtle age differences, so I used some reference images of my younger sister Julia and I for comparison. I always thought she grew infinitely prettier than me disturbingly fast ;a;

In conclusion:

Elementary school- the years of curls and sun-bleached blonde tips. My dad was a professional photographer, I looked like a goddess trapped in a child's body, and my sister had yet to learn how to smile like a normal person and talk without a lisp. We both wore big T-shirts and ran around barefoot whenever possible pretending to be mermaids or wolves and the like. From 3rd grade onward was when I felt like my cute was starting to fade into awkwardness.

Middle school- the years we don't like to talk about. I learned that side bangs weren't for me but had yet to figure out that I needed to ask for "chunky layers" and not simply "layered." My sister's hair was wild for another year or so before she chopped all of it off and donated it. I was a giraffe standing over a full head taller than all of my friends and struggling with acne, thick brows, a large nose, and braces. My sister had none of these problems.

High school- the years we thought we had it figured out. I started trying to wear things that made me feel alright but weren't so trendy as to be out of fashion just a year later. I started wearing a little pencil liner under my eyes and caking my face in coverup. My hair flattened out and got greasy if I didn't wash it every day. My sister became a fashion queen seemingly overnight. Sometimes I got her hand-me-downs.

College- the years of actually starting to feel good about myself. My wavy hair made a comeback. My skin cleared up considerably. I tried to adopt a NorCal appropriate wardrobe and started wearing liquid eyeliner. My sister still looks like a model next to me in every picture.

I love how it looks like you just had one stage in middle school of being the tall one until she caught up with you

Her and literally everyone else xD
I wish I was exaggerating, but one of my favorite photos is of her and me and two of my friends and one of their sisters all lined up on level ground. If not for my clothing, I'd look like their mom because they were all more or less the same height and I was at least a full head taller than all of them. I stopped growing after middle school thankfully and the rest of the world caught up xD

pfff I stopped growing around 5th grade
I got to a full 4' 11" tall //shot

I've always been shorter than everyone, and third graders nowadays are gigantic, a ton of them have at least a good three inches on me

Sketchy being a tall isn't surprising though
You look like a tall
