Another color combination pinup that I did for fun. It sat in my pictures folder as a wip for like two weeks because I thought it was terrible and hopeless and then I finally got sick of seeing it and finished it.It was mostly the pose that threw me, next time I try one of these I'm going to make sure the background is more graphic like the oldschool pinup painters such as my dear Elvgren. They're more stage sets than environments.
What I do like is the gaze in this one, I want to make sure that I keep eye contact in future pinups, it gives the woman more power by making her aware of the viewer's presence, so that they're not a voyeur. She's perfectly fine with the fact that the viewer is there but also knows that she has complete control of what they can and cannot see. I don't think pin-ups need to be objectification.

I really love these paintings of women. one because of the painterly style/technique. and two, because your subjects are beautiful. they are slender women, yes, but they are not built like "super models". you manage to still keep the curves and body fat of a healthy woman. i love it c:

I like that you made her aware of the viewer and consenting, it's tempting to make a pin up woman with those surprised but delighted expressions which imply a lot more about society than we might think haha.

Yeah, it does imply so much! One of the art history professors that taught at my school actually wrote a whole book about pinups! Quite fascinating!
