Personality:

Smoky’s personality is what you get when you combine Chrysalis’s dry sarcasm with Sombra’s stoic nature. One can never tell what the little filly is really thinking when she’s silent, but when she does speak, she says what’s on her mind openly and unashamedly. Her blunt honesty and razor-sharp sarcastic wit (usually at the expense of Sombra) gives her Mama Chryssie a run for her money, and can sometimes get her into trouble.

Smoky exhibits more of her Umbrum genes than her older siblings, and has a natural talent for dark magic. She wants to use dark magic to help other ponies, showing a soft, caring side to her, and she is more willing to acknowledge this part of herself than her father is willing to acknowledge his.

Relationships:

Smoky loves her older siblings dearly, and is especially protective of her brother Chitin. She is very sensitive to his feelings and is the most careful with her words when speaking to him, but she still makes sure to get her point across. In a nutshell, she just wants him to be happy in his own skin.

Smoky finds Jade Charna to be “amusing” (her words, not ours). She admires her older sister’s confidence in her presence and the brutal (albeit vulgar) honesty in her words, although she wishes that she’d ease up on her attempts to boost Chitin’s confidence, as she doesn’t want her brother to be made into something that he isn’t.

While she tends to give her father a lot of grief, Smoky admires Sombra and he is always the first to know when she masters a new spell. She’s just as affectionate towards her mother, too, which unfortunately leads to parental squabbles over who she loves more, despite Smoky’s insistence that “they’re both equally adequate.”

Smoky sees Flurry Heart as a “suitable partner” for Chitin, although she is ready to lay down the law if the crystal alicorn ever hurts him.
