Also, this (along with "Off With Her Head") reminds me of the animal health lab I work in. We remove the heads of animals to be tested for rabies, so several times a year, I open my refrigerator and find a fox head looking back at me.

Urban foxes are still fearful of humans, not as much as rural foxes but I'd like to see evidence for this claim you make, mainly cause its unheard of

Oh, that's shocking...
Well...I think that could be a consequence of the close living-by-side of foxes and men in especially London. Normally a fox woulnd't attack a human (only an ill fox). City foxes can be so bold (esp. when they are fed by humans) that they lose their natural fear of humans and so...such things can happen - unfortunately. Animals are always unpredictable. And foxes aren't only cute and cuddly (I know what I'm speaking from - the little fox cub from my photographs bit me very hard several times - but that was only "playing") But I think a fox attacking a human shows signs of maladjustement.

it was the father's blame, watching tv downstairs with the volume all the way up. 911 was dialed by the neighbours.
the point is that since i started to wach skia i got to liking foxes more than just "one of the many species" and i always liked smirre, anyway, from a compasionate point of view (that one fox is really cursed). but this piece of news blew it all to bits, and left me quite confused.
