I love the combination of light color washes and simply lines.
It's amazing how the mask has such a piteous expression, even as the hooked beak is ominous enough to match the bloody wings. It's so sad that the fox wants to learn to fly, but all he accomplished by taking someone else's wings was to keep them from flying!

Beautiful, simple and powerful. I like it! It completely reminded me of a book I had when I was little. It was a Native American story about a blue coyote that tries to learn to fly from a bunch of crows..except, in the end, they don't get eaten..since it was a children's book...but you get the idea.

Like so many have said, you can interpret this in quite a few ways...
My first impression was that it was a total accident, what happened to the bird...
And then I thought about it a little more.
I love that the mask is covering the canine's face...it totally leaves you wondering what it really feels behind there.
