FINALLY. I can't work on this anymore, so up it goes! For *Resmiranda 's House of the Moon tale The Hime and the Dog Prince. And now I get to rant about it.I sketched it really rough on crappy paper, transferred the clean lines to a new sheet, then transfered THAT to bristol to ink. You know what took me the longest on this whole thing? Not the drawing, not the coloring, but that god damn border, and you don't even get to see why. I did this fabulous, intricate white text border with interlocking shape and letterforms and when I inked it in realized it just didn't work. OH THE HORROR!! So I was forced to color over it to be solid. *weep*
The scan ate everything and I'm sorry. Plus the line in the middle can't be fully taken away...I had to scan it in two parts because of its size (11x14) and piecing it together just wouldn't work. Anyways, am pleased yet sleepy.

Those are totally painted on with ink, she's got the paintbrush in her hand
But thankya thankya for the comment! It's such an excellent read and great inspiration for fanart. I am such a slob when drawing - pencil smudges and eraser marks EVERYWHERE. So when I'm finally done with the overall look and details, I use a lightpad and transfer it to a brand new sheet of paper. Voi-la, instant clean-up! It definitely helps when you know you can be as sloppy as you want in the beginning. (hah, sometimes my people look like they have 6 arms or something, the way I keep changing their positions)

Have you ever read Unspoiled [link] or Beside You in Time [link] ? Both are unfinished (Unspoiled is closer to being done, though) but they're just as amazing. Also, The Once and Future Taiyoukai [link]

omg Unspoiled is totally bookmarked on my iPod touch so I can check obsessively every Friday at work to see if it's updated. I love all of her stuff SO MUCH *flails a wee bit* And wow, haven't read OaFT i na long time, should definitely re-read it though! Thanks for reminding me about it :3 I found this list from, wow, must've been 6 or 7 years ago that has all these old fics I used to read on it. Looked them up again and they're still pretty damn good! Should find that list again...
Gah, I'll tell you right now that admiring other people is something we ALL do. Whenever Kidchan and pu-sama post something new, i have the most massive urge to scream. Also, original drawings FTW! Fanart is fun and all, but having your own style and coming up with random characters and such leaves you feeling so much more free and open! *nodnod* MOst of the things I do is original stuff, it's just not posted here >_>
Artists are great improvisors! Until I got one during xmas, I taped the drawing with clean paper on to of it to a window on a sunny day, and it works just as well! Give it a shot, it might help

I have a few original characters (I hate that term so much) but it's so hard to develop any kind of consistent "style". I don't know how people can draw the same character 6 times and have them look identical. When I try each one looks way different, and I so want to be able to make good character reference pages. I know I need to start out with learning basic anatomy and the like but

Oh I need to re-read this. I recognize Koga and his son, and I recognize the wolf family with their dragon. I don't recognize the girl with the heart eyes.

I know youve had this up for awhile, it just took me alil to find it again. I want to say that i absolutly loved this story, its one of my favorites of all time because of how it portrays what happened. i love the fact you did this part of the story as i found this to be my favorit part. it was the funniest part but also the part that sesshomaru and kagome seemed to bond the most. i just wanted to tell you how amazing i think this picture is as it captures everything about the characters and story.. Wonderful job!

It really is. It may seem daunting and long at first, but that's how she manages to keep everyone in character and really get a great story rolling. OMG I nearly laughed my brains out when I saw this!!! SO FUNNY!!! I love the happy little dragon. Just a little confused, though. The green-eyed girl is Rin, right? and the two little'uns in the white fur are the healer's kids? wasn't sure, but thought I'd double check. I love the idea of painting Sesshy's markings on Kagome. I love this pic because it takes a really angsty fic and makes it FRIGGEN HILARIOUS!!! keep up the good work!
