*sniffleeee* well...while re-watching the Martha episodes...I thought...she really was under rated :/She was fabulous!
True the Doc was still trying to get over Rose and Martha fell for him, but still,...he coulda been less cold, and stopped leading her on.
POOR Martha.
If Martha's not ur fave companion...well she's not exactly mine ether, but she's a good one-so keep negativeness yo urselfffffffff pleazze

Admittedly, she was my first companion, but she's still my favorite. Rose is kind of annoying, Donna's all right but a bit too unrealistic, and Amy...I don't know. (Rory is just rory and epically awesome like that.)

Ehh well, Rose was my first(watch DW since the reboot back in 2005)...and after re-watching Rose several times Ive come to not dislike her anymore, becuase of the Doctor-he loved her so much (and also, I look the most like her out of all the companions-and I decided if I might cosplay her one day, I shouldn't dislike the character lol)
...And well, Donna is my favorite XD

Haha my friend first showed me "Blink" and then the subsequent three episodes so I kinda got used to Martha before I went back and started from the beginning. And Donna kinda grew on me to the point where she's my second favorite so ^_^

Luckily she was swept off her feet by the most awesome overlooked boy in the series known as Mickey Smith.
Together they kicked butt and fell so deeply in love that the other employees of UNIT really got sick of hearing about it. Hheh

She was totally underrated. An awesome assistant. The first DW episode I ever saw was Smith and Jones and I loved it.

IMO, Martha had been never been given a fair chance as a companion. There was too much inertia against her by the "fantards" who wanted Rose to stick around forever and give birth to the Doctor's babies. I think you know what I'm talking about when I say that... x.x

I know right? I completely agree (haha..fantards...that made me laughXD), I think Rose was fine when it was her time, but if you pull back and look at all the companions(since 2005) shes prolly at the bottom of my list>_>
Frankly I don't know what (the writers made) the Doc see in Rose....I mean shes your basic blond pretty girl....but other than that idk XD

I like Martha too. When I first started watching Doctor Who I was watching the reruns of series 2(while also watching series 5). I liked Martha, dispite what others said about her.

... i loved martha, and while i'd like to agree with you.... bear in mind that the doctor had JUST lost rose. I mean, would ti have been better if he had used her as rebound? i mean, he loved rose, and then lost her. he had to be hurting. he never lead her on.... he even said "you're not replacing her!"

Well there is half (or more-or less) of the fanbase that believes in the "lead on(Unintentional or otherwise )" view point (there are videos, and posters, and blogs, and artwork)...and rather than going YOU'RE WRONG AND IM RIGHT!
I just see that there are two (or more) ways of looking at it. (In other words, we're both technically right...)
I guess I just relate more with this aspect, because, I know what its like to get lead on (Unintentional or otherwise)
and then find out that they have no interest at all(and are humiliated in the process).
and they were just poking a bit of fun OR we're completely oblivious, and you wish he could control himself.

I liked Martha! I think she should have had more episodes. Donna was my favourite, but that's only because she was played by Catherine Tate...and I just LOVE Catherine Tate! She's so FUNNY! But I think Martha fitted the Companion mantle a lot better, if that makes sense...

Or maybe Amy gets kidnapped or something, and The Doctor decides he can't hunt down her kidnappers, let alone rescue her, by himself, and so he asks Martha to help. The whole series could be about The Doctor and Martha searching throughout time and space looking for Amy...
