Description
Scarlet has needed a wicked redo badly for a long time now.
I finally went for it and though only a few little things have changed, this is so much better.
This is closer to the Scarlet in my head than any I have made so far.
I didn't quite know what was wrong, so I started keeping track of the things I found off.
I am very, very overly excited and proud of the accuracy of this portrayal and hopefully this is the image I can maintain in future drawings.
Just a short list of what changed:
- curl frequency; they are now tighter and frizzier.
- hair style; half up, half down, bandanna, beads, braids, and dreads that actually kinda look like dreads finally, all near the front.
- facial structure; higher cheekbones, narrower jaw. I always said she had a "round" face but it never looked threatening enough for my taste.
- feature shapes; thicker eyebrows, narrower eyes, bigger/pointer nose.
- color; darker/orangier hair, paler skin, more freckles, eyes more turquoise than gray.
- style; more regal, as she is a wealthy pirate captain.
- longer; in an attempt to make her height obvious I often squashed her figure, and though she still has wide hips and shorter legs, her torso has been stretched.
