Well it may be because of added textures on pencil drawing. I usually add textures in digital after I scan the picture. The size of this one is 210x210 mm.

It's the best thing we all should do. But there's nothing special in small paper size, as for me I always afraid of big sheets but I think I must going that way, it's better for art.

Same, I just can't seem to move away from my trusty a4 sketchbook and I can't take an a3 sketchbook with me anywhere

Think I'll just start sharpening my pencils with lasers so i can do insane detail on tiny paper

No matter how it's sharp actually. And I think it's better to use at least A4 paper, really. I think it's the best solution for all-day-carrie notepad. And it's better to use spiral notepads. I startes to use A4 Moleckine and I found it not very comfortable for drawing in some narrow places, for example in plane.
