Great! Quentin Blake is amazing. I think its beacause he draws so quickly. When I was drawing these (holding the pen right at the end and drawing rapidly from my head) someone was telling me that Q.B. draws a rough in pencil then traces it really quickly in pen and ink using a lightbox, it really made me want to take less time over a finished drawing and just kind of embrace the messiness.

Yeah I've been trying to 'embrace the messiness' and going with the flow recently by just simply placing pen to paper and rapidly trying to draw whatever, yet it hasn't turned out as successfully as the more calculated drawings i've done. But Blake seems to have the right idea, I'll have to try it!

yeah, then you can calculate BEFORE and have an accurate drawing which still looks raw and fresh and understated, good plan
