#throwbackthrusday happened on Twitter, and I got all nostalgic for some of my oldest characters from my first years on the internet, RPing on AOL.Both are named Akaya and date back from 96-98. I was too lazy to change my AOL handle and start over with a new character name.
Akaya the FF7 fan character was one of RedXIII’s lion/wolf species, and unlike most high school fan characters had no relationships or interaction with the game’s story. She was just created in the world setting. I actually don’t recall her design in full, kind of winged it based on what I do remember.

I saw this and was immediately reminded of that story you wrote on recycled paper about big cats living in abandoned train cars. I was just flipping through deviations and I stopped here like - wait... what's this nostalgia? Oh of course, it's you.

YES so yes..this character was the basis for that story 100%. My parents STILL have the binder with that story, and some day when I drive down to TN to get my art bin, and I am going to digitally dictate it and post to show people that story ideas they had at 14 are not always the best things to hold on to to make into LIFE projects at 25.

Hah yeah..everyone has like, these neat bits and pieces at that age, that make terrible stories, but can lend to way better ideas when we're more capable.

Hah for real, FF7 was like..my first serious fandom obsession around '96, memories of hanging out and talking about theories before the game even released in America.
