Dinkin around in photoshop, playing with a painter style.
I obviously have work to do, but I had fun with this anyway!I can't tell y'all how much I love Altaria.
I mean it's fluffy, it's lovely, it flies, it hums and cuddles...AND ITS A FREAKING DRAGON.
Badass in disguise. XD Anyway, hope you like! Generic picture is generic~.

I've been surfing your gall' for a while, but it took an even longer while for me to comment on a picture was done awhile AGO, I guess.
Oy, by the way - I think I might need an art lesson from you: how do you do speech bubbles in photoshop? ;w;

1) Make two new layers. The top layer will be for your text. Type your text wherever you want it.
2) Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a circle around your text in the text layer.
3) Select the layer below your text layer, with the circle still around your text. Fill the area in this layer only. You should have (say) white underneath your text.
4) If you want a thin black/anyothercolor border around it, stay on your lower fill-layer and go down to "FX" in your layers window. Choose 'stroke' and fiddle with your settings there.
That's just for your basic circle. Any other fancy effects you may have to look up.
If you want that little 'tail' pointing at the character to show who's talking, start at step 2.
Step 2.5) Select "Polygonal Lasso Tool". Look at the upper left, and you should see four mini box icons. Select the second one. This will allow you to add onto your shape while still keeping intact. With the tool, draw your 'tail' pointing at whoever you want. Be sure to draw it completely and connect the lines. (Make the base within the circle. You dont have to start at the very edge of your circle, it'll still add on just fine if you start partially inside it. 
Then move on from step 2 and it should still work the same!

Oh my goodness, my weakness: layers. @__@;; I was able to make the circle part, but for some reason I'm still not able to "keep it around the text" if I go on to select the other layer.
Mrggh, I'm layer-challeneged. >_<;;; Don't worry, I'll look up multiple layer tutorials online due to my epic failing.

The colors and the detailed background along with how Altaria came out are the biggest strength of this piece. The background really fits nicely with the overall theme of this piece and makes for a relaxing scenery.

I feel extremely jealous. These things are awesome, yet I don't even know if I can find a Swablu. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find one eventually. Love your art by the way.
