You should totally read Bluesar's Prophecy!
But yeah, one of the Erins said that when Thistleclaw died, he went to StarClan. But then, when Bluestar died, she chased him into the Dark Forest. So Thistleclaw isn't as evil as most of the fandom thinks he is.

aww, poor Thistle, I always assumed that he when to the dark forest because he trained there when he was alive (it says that i Crookedstar's Promise i think... I could be wrong)... but thats really awful. ;A;
and the weird thing about me not having read that book is that I own the actual paper book and I own a digital version too

Nope. Plenty of cats (Crookedstar, Bramblestar, Lionblaze, Ivypool) have trained in the DF. Thistle just wanted to be a better warrior. Sure he was arrogant, a jerkface, amd a terrible mentor...but he wasn't exactly "evil."
