I suppose if he was falling on his back, that might be easier to catch as long as he keeps his arms up front while clenching his fists. Not sure about the feet though.

If I was more confident in my catching abilities, I would volunteer as tribute...

If I saw Zaltag falling, I would be like: "Screw the fact his claws could slash me into ribbons, his safety as leader of the zoogs takes top priority then my safety."
He seems though a bit more relaxed then being in water, that's something I noticed in this little doodle.
