I love this photo!
The color transition from the horizon to the top of the photo in the sky is amazing. Also, the linear "age change" in architecture, from left to right, looks good too.

You're right about the age change... the left part is 19th century architecture when Oostende was the most famous beach resort in Europe... and on the right the dirt concrete skyline. You've got good eyes ; )
