Just a strange day and yes, photo'd the color to be a bit reddish...and I tend to do that to people, I enjoy looking at art, and if something catches my eye I stay and look. You are a wonderful artist and your works caught my eye.

Hrm... If I were to offer an interesting sci-fi explanation as to the nature of this cloud, I think I would go with 'air-borne zombifying chemical weapon'. 'Course, I generally explain most things through the eyes of a zombie...enthusiast.
*thoughtful pause* It's too bad the street wasn't part of the shot, or this could be used for all sorts of post- and/or peri-apocalyptic photomanip stock; though one could still edit in flying baddies, I suppose. Maybe a dark humanoid shadow looming over the building. Anyroad, a piece with a lot of character and in the right hands, a lot of potential. Unfortunately for me, those hands are not mine.

sleepbabie In reply to Xahtonnoj [2008-08-18 03:14:35 +0000 UTC]

I hate to say it...I'm a vampire fan myself. The zombie, not so much, but I can see where one would draw the assumption. It is an odd 28 Days kind of shot (the British did a great job). It's actually a building in Galveston that I thought was so eerie it needed to be captured. The cloud just happened to be hanging, and the rest is on deviant art. Thank you so much for the compliment, it keeps me moving forward, and it's good to know I do have an eye, every now and then.

Xahtonnoj In reply to sleepbabie [2008-08-19 02:35:31 +0000 UTC]

Ah, vampires. The flip side of the Undead Menace coin. *grins* I can see the appeal of vampires, but I prefer fighting against large numbers of opponents and living to tell the tale, so bloodsuckers are out of the question.

I've never actually seen either of the 28 _____ Later films. Care to compare them to something that a newb might recognize for the sake of reference?

I always give credit where credit is due, and as a fellow struggling photographer, I understand what a difference a kind word or two can make. *lopsided grin*

About the whole journal crap, it was my way of dealing with my stupid life. I had actually meant to get rid of em but kept putting it off. Not an excuse, just a reality. Agreed it was inappropriate and childish, I am only human, which I am reminded of every day.

To get back to Vamps vrs Dead Alive I have to stick with vamps. I've only seen the first 28 Days, it's kinda like The Blair Witch; you just need to see the first one. Too much more it starts to get a little funky. The original is really amazing they had a short time to film in London and much of it is done digitally. Watch the uncut version.

It's unlike anything I've seen in that genre, but then I haven't seen a lot of zombie films. I do have to say the whole zombie vrs vamp in films, zombies win by a landslide. Blade 2 and 3, The Vampire Hunter Z and Interview with a Vampire are really the only good films I've come across, contemporary wise. Anyway, I ramble, and I watch a lot of crap.

Watch 28 Days let me know what you think.

Will do!

Everyone has their bad days. If you are reminded that you are only human and that depresses you, I suggest making a tally of our accomplishments. It always cheers me up.

Are you going to reply to my comment on your journal, or is this serving as your response?

sleepbabie In reply to Xahtonnoj [2008-08-20 15:06:11 +0000 UTC]

I actually got rid of them last night, the journals. It was time, Grasshopper.

I was looking at your photography, you're pet pieces are really really good...and the ones with the fuzzy people. I can't wait to see what evolves from you, in the art world.

Xahtonnoj In reply to sleepbabie [2008-08-20 17:10:59 +0000 UTC]

Good! It's always helpful to clear away old negative statements when turning over a new leaf, sensei.

Thanks! I've taken many hundreds of photos of my bud Chance over the years, so a few of 'em were bound to be good. And as for the fuzzy people, fully informed and willing subjects aren't neccessary for a good shot. I'm looking forward to what I will eventually capture in the future, as well. The first step being getting a new camera (my old one ended up exploring the depths of Lake Ohau first-hand) and possibly a photomanipulation program. And some proper lighting equipment...
