Katerina raised her arms up and forward, her fingers stretched widely apart and flexing. Spiderwoman accepted her test of strength challenge.   Their fingers interlocking, the two women gauged the strength of the other.     They both adopted similar tactics, feigning weakness, then demonstrating a surge of muscular fortitude.   As if performing a waltz, they stepped forward and backward.   The Stallion would have enjoyed the gyrating movement of their hips but he remained unconscious and unaware.

It was always a difficult decision for Spiderwoman to employ her brute strength against an unknown adversary.    Deranged civies and super-powered vixens could be indistinguishable.    The risk of hurting her opponent always loomed large in her mind. She is strong, Spiderwoman mulled. Yet she knew that abnormal physical strength did not necessarily equal abnormal physical resilience.

A bead of sweat trickled down Katerina's nose from her forehead. Spiderwoman watched it drop off her nose's tip and roll onto her top lip.   Suddenly she felt Katerina surge. Her wrists began to bend back from the pressure against them.   For the first time Spiderwoman realized that Katerina was a formidable foe.   She decided to take the next opportunity that presented itself to lock in a hold that would debilitate her adversary into unconsciousness.

As if on the same wavelength Katerina likewise made a move to change her game plan.   While Spiderwoman hesitated for an opening, she acted first as her leg nimbly swung up between Spiderwoman's legs.
