Will you stop making up these crappy engine bios and names?! Seriously, no one is going to like you if you are just going to troll others!

Why on earth would a loco be called STEAMEELWORKS? Please don't spam nonsense and you've been told this by multiple people already. What are you getting out of it?

because he's an absolute retard.  Believe me, I was spammed by this moron, and all does is annoy the shit out of people by making up stories for engine oc bios(which is absolutely stupid.)

Haha true and I do hate recolouring, B&W images especially but given the lack of other West Somerset photos, plus the fact that I had already done a lot of the ground work with Neil I thought it wouldn't be too much bother if I reused him in some way. Owing to the low perspective and the necessary angle of the track it took a while to match up a background photo and then I had to chip away at the larger Austerity plumed in the same spot but i'm quite happy with the result....how do I cover the final Neilson though

Where did you find this only other picture?

It was trapped underneath the tray of an old antique dresser that I bought

Umm yes. The engine above is from the same photo as my Neil one, just that's it's been mirrored, messed around a bit and then imposed on to a coloured photo.

Glad you like it. I'm still hoping to model at least one of these someday, think I found a good 7mm coach kit for the S&MR though.

Indeed I do my friend. I want to take a crack at this type too once I can build a layout they are quite fascinating for a simple design.

Good to see one of the more anonymous engines be given a name not related to the Trainz models. Yes the engines where scrapped but that's what they did during the take steam engines for granted period even in Sodor.

SleeperAgent1 In reply to BorisFedorov [2017-09-06 16:54:26 +0000 UTC]

Aye a little sad but it's a good thing that even Sodor is not completely immune to both hard and changing times.
I've not actually seen any Sim stories with the other two to be honest but I wanted a name that had 'son' at the end of it, plus Ronson 'Son of Ronald' is a good solid Scottish name from the old world

BorisFedorov In reply to SleeperAgent1 [2017-09-06 21:17:54 +0000 UTC]

Exactly, the Scottish were to Sodor like the Chinese were for the Western lands of Anglo America only treated better. plus it makes sense that all the standard gauge engines that came before Edward, Henry, Gordon, Eagle, two spiteful and haughty tender engines and a young whiny Thomas circa 1915-1923  where all small scale bought locomotives bought by Glasgow and Manchester suppliers since there was no Crewe, Derby, or Horwich for the small railway networks to build their own locomotives. As for you and Knuckles making the conclusion that John Kenny's illustrations of Edward the most accurate. I'm more for the Clive Sponge illustrations of Christopher Awdry's books since he was given greater descriptive hints of a more established Sodor how the Awdry family viewed the place than what was being made up and being put on paper for the 1945-late72  classic series period.   latest (1054×696)     The Dalby and Kenny portrayals feel to much like big boiler LMS 4-4-0 2P minus the belpaire firebox, expanded splashers, and a oversized late Gresley styled cab for a rebuilt Furness engine for me.

Where did you get that image? I could only find one images of an engine like this, and this picture wasn't it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SleeperAgent1 In reply to Eli-J-Brony [2017-09-06 14:00:54 +0000 UTC]

I made it by combining two images. The Neil one I had already coloured in so I flipped it and then added the reversing arm etc. The other photo had an 0-6-0T Austerity in the same position but I trimmed him away with screenshots via Word Document and then tidied the whole thing up on Pixelmator.
If you haven't seen it already there is actually another photo of 'The Box' though.

Yeah, it's not great for photoshopping purposes but that aside it is actually really useful to see the rear end. Still I do wish at least one more photo of 'The Box' was taken.....

Eli-J-Brony In reply to SleeperAgent1 [2017-09-06 17:09:48 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. If I wanted to do a realistic version of Neil or any other engine of his basis, I only have one option for that.

Smashing edit once again there Sleeper; though my only question would be where the face came from. Not entirely sure if it's an edited version of Neil's face from 'Very Old Engines' or another face that I'm unaware of.

SleeperAgent1 In reply to ToyFreddEnt [2017-09-06 14:19:30 +0000 UTC]

Cheers my dear   Yep the face is an edited version of Neil's from Very Old Engines. I don't usually combine illustrations with photos but colouring in B&W images always makes things look hyper real anyway so sod it, might try tweaking his mouth a little more and fix up one or two little areas I've spotted since uploading in a bit though.

ToyFreddEnt In reply to SleeperAgent1 [2017-09-07 09:11:19 +0000 UTC]

No probs at all. Ah, I'd thought as much; but yeah, the trouble with doing things like that is that it can go one of two ways in terms of how it looks...the illustration-photo combination can either look good (as it does on yours here) or it can look, shall we say, a wee bit awkward. Though it would be dependent on how much time was put into it initially.
