A poster I did for my graphic design class, for the Oscar-winning short film, Helium.It's a wonderful film, I recommend it!
This is the first time I've "finished" something in "my style" in over a year.
I've just been doodling and doing sterile art/design classwork for so long, I wasn't sure what my own work would look like anymore!
But I think all of the things I've been learning have made changes for the better!
Process:
- Sketched the boy, balloons, and letters separately
- Transferred the lines lightly onto watercolor paper and watercolored it all
- Made a quick gradient background with watercolor on a separate sheet
- Scanned all pieces
- Cleaned them up and adjusted colors in Photoshop
- Assembled pieces and added bottom info in Illustrator
Three years ago, I would not have imagined so much digital art going into my traditional art
