Vietnam in general is something most of us over here feel some shame for. It is seen by many as an unnecessary war that caused unnecessary death and suffering on both sides. Our troops were not properly trained to deal with the kinds of combat and non-combat scenarios that happened and civilian casualties were extraordinarily high. It was a humbling war, I would say, and our soldiers act a lot more professionally now because of it.

It'd be stinging rain, big ol' fat rain, rain that blew in sideways, and sometimes rain that'd seem to come straight up from underneath. Just about every kind of rain there is and it wouldn't quit for four months.
