On April 11th of 2015, the Alcoa Ridge Runners ventured forth to camp overnight at Campsite #28 on Lynn Camp Prong Trail in the Tremont district of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, not far from Townsend in Blount County, Tennessee. About a mile up hill from the Panther Creek Trail junction, a side trail leads off into the Rhodie bushes. After cambering over rocks and through what appears to be an almost impassable green jungle, the understory suddenly opens up to give way to this magical place. Looking left, we see the first step Indian Flats Prong Cascades, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Smokies, having four separate steps in all for a total of 65 feet in drop over a 170 foot long run.
