I wanted to try out the Sktchy app, and this is what I painted using the reference image. For those of you that haven't checked it out, it's a fun place to get inspiration for artwork! People upload reference images as well as artwork, and the two are tied together.

I'm now using a Cintiq, which was a combined present from a few people at Xmas 2 years ago.. They are expensive! Before that, I was using an Intuos. Now this year I've gotten an iPad and stylus for drawing on while I'm not at home, and it's great so far too. Now I just have to learn to use Procreate as well as I can Photoshop.

I don't honestly remember, since I didn't pay for it myself, lol! And thanks! I am completely self taught. I taught myself Photoshop about 10 years ago, but only periodically worked on my artwork during that time. I wasnt serious about teaching myself real art and color theory until the last two years or so.

I taught myself Photoshop. I'd been drawing my whole life, on and off. Took some classes in high school, but that's the closest I got to formal education until these books I'm reading and doing studies alongside now. Photoshop I learned by doing tutorials. Each one would teach me something new about the program. And if I wanted to do something but couldn't figure it out, I looked it up, them I knew! And it all added up.
No worries at all, I'm happy to help! If I can help someone else figure out how to do something they've dreamed of doing, how awesome is that?!?

Wow! Superb job! All of your paintings are AMAZING! I tried digital paint several times and it's tough. So I admire the artists who do such a fantastic job because it's not easy. You're a gifted artist and I hope this talent/skills brings you much success in your life, dreams and goals!

It IS tough to do digital, but most of that toughness comes in the first bit, before you really get used to it. Once you get a decent tablet, and get used to the way they work, it gets easier.

Yes I purchased a Wacom tablet a looong time ago with a Corel Painter software, but I never got the hang of it.
It took me way too long to finish a piece. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten better at it and be quicker, but I sort of gave up on it and pursued art interests.
