Description Commissioned by for as a birthday gift.

Hazalin is an OC created by . I first met him as one of the stars of the animation series "Search for the Crystal Tear" (first episode here [link] ), and took an instant liking to him. Thus it was my absolute pleasure to paint an image of him that I had in my head for ages now.

This was supposed to be done by end of April, but with the move and all, only just got to finish it. Xullrae and Littlegoblet: Thank you so much for your patience.

hehee i know... it's easy to get overwhelmed.. I take a lot on for myself too.. When I feel like I'm stuck, I make a list of little things that I can achieve easily, and and tick them off as I go.. I find it rewarding to set little achievable goals for myself..

for such an awesome surprise. this means so much to me. You have brought one of my most beloved characters to life in every possible way. From his face to his body to his sexy choice of clothing and soft arm hair hee hee. Never have I seen him look so realistic and delicious er hem I mean . . . .where was I. . . . Oh yes his face is handsome I always imagined him to be strong but gentle and I think that you nailed that perfectly. I only wish I could make him look this good in the animation lol. love the way you did his dreamy eyes nose and mouth. and his sexy Mohawk. this is so going on my desktop Oh yeah and there is a nice sunset in there somewhere too, I just can't see it cause I am blinded by the spunkbubble standing in my way. Hee hee ok I will behave now but I feel very honored and greatful so thank you and Lisa ever so much for this masterpiece

Aww.. I am so glad that you like the picture. I was first quite worried that it's the image of him I had in my head, not necessarily the same as your image of him..

I guess the most challenging thing about this picture was the loincloth.. it took me a while to come up with it... how it would be made up with a few pieces of leather strung together with strings that would rip themselves when he changes into a horse, but then again he can kinda tie it back with more strings afterwards.. thus all those strings tied in random manner.. I like to have something on him that's plausible, let alone kinda cool.. believe me, making loincloth look cool is a challenge..

Anyway.. I really really enjoyed painting him.. he's so sexy, even his bad poetry..

you had me laughing when you said bad poetry. yuppers he is awful just like me lol. as for his characteristics, well Hazalins image was never really set in stone like Ira so I had ideas of what he may look like but he was forever being reshaped in my mind. You did him great justice in that department. He has a handsome, strong yet gentle face, the kind of face I was trying to attempt. Oh yes I see the idea behind the loincloth and I like that idea very much. that was one of the things I struggled with earlier on. I thought what could I put him in that would fit his human and horse self and I ended up with something quite ugly. Not sexy at all hee hee. I am making another story after this animation and guess what. . .I am gonna put him in sexy loincloth when he goes on one of his adventures.

This is absolutely mesmerizing and I can't even tell you why exactly. There is such a calm atmosphere about this painting. Absolutely beautiful! And I looooove the coloring you did on his skin! Great job!

Only the left ear appears to be slightly largher than the right one, but maybe that is due to the way he has his head tilted a little.

Thank you he is a classic good character, sometimes a little goofy even, so I wanted to give him that calm atmosphere..

Hmm.. left ear does seem a little bigger.. maybe I got it wrong at sketching stage.. bah. hopefully it's not too noticable at a glance.. hehee

Noooo! I'm pretty sure no one will notice it. The hair covers a large part of other ear and I only saw it because I sometimes have a weird obsession with ears.

its really beautiful I love the coloring the pink sky really compliments the eyes and hair. youre very good at skies too. and the eyes are so beautiful the detail of the loin cloth and all the various creases in his hands and armpits. great job

heheee.. yeah I go way overboard when I draw topless guys..

cheated with the skin tone by changing colour balance half way through the picture when I decided to change the sky.. thank goodness for digital painting.. probably had to repaint the whole thing if it was traditional..
