This figure is about a quarter of a larger composition I'm working on for ---> . All you people inclined to drawing elf-types should check it out.

This is my first ever representation of the mythical character Thelel from the world setting of my webcomic , depicted here with a shadow hound . For those unfamiliar with my world setting, Thelel is kinda like the Adam of dark elvenkind. Her name means "New Moon," hence the title. Her counterpart Lairel - "Full Moon" - is still in sketch stages, but you can expect to see her up here soon enough.

And yes, I created the damask pattern myself. And then I painstakingly patched it onto her shawl, bit by bit. At least it came out okay. >_<

Couple notes about the design: The feathers in her hair are "owl" feathers. They're not real owl feathers, but leather tooled and painted to look like them. Her hair is threaded through a leather base to create the lotus-like bun. The echoing lotus brooch on her chest is painted wood. Also, the breechclout design may not be final. Drow ladies wear embellished house mottos and things like that on their breechclouts, but seeing as Thelel is the first dark elf ever (and potentially never really existed), she has no family motto. If I think of something that pertains to the tarot card design I'll probably translate it to Elfish (my version) and put it on there. And yes, henna, henna everywhere. Even in her hair.

Ps: Sorry for the wonky legs on the hound. I cannae draw doggies. ;(
