this is my entry to My FX weekly Challenge # 148 'Masquerade' at the ImagineFx magazine forum. Another in my series of the West that never was. This is one of Sheriff Cal's close friends John Littlemoon. John's tracking something nasty from that uses an artifact called the Blood Mask. The tribes from the far south, long ago tried to conquer the tribes of the great plains and used blood magic in there war. The people of the plains united and brought forth the great shaman and warriors of their own into play beating back the invading hoard. But some of there weapons were left behind. The blood mask being one of the worst.
