Gaara's breath hitched in his throat as he approached Neji. Neji was in the cafeteria with the rest of the boys from his dance class. Neji was a wonderful dancer in ballet, interpretive, hip-hop, and freestyle, the most popular boy in school; and not to mention the best looking. Neji literally had every boy and girl in school falling all over him.

*Hah…. Alright, today is the day. I'm going to ask him.* Gaara though bravely, swallowing the lump in his throat. Today was the day. He had decided to finally ask his long term crush, Neji Hyuga, out on a date.

Gaara tried to regulate his breathing as he kicked up his skateboard and walked over. Gaara figured he had a pretty good chance. Although he was a little on the quiet side, he still had kick-ass moves on a skateboard and a reputation as a "Cool guy".

"Ahem" Gaara cleared his throat, tapping Neji on the shoulder. Neji stopped his conversation and turned around to see Gaara. A quick smile appeared on Neji's face before he caught himself and replaced it with his usual poker face.

"Yes, Gaara-san?" he asked politely, leaning back in his seat and swooping his hair over one shoulder. Gaara blushed discreetly and coughed into his hand. "W-well, hm. Would you be interested in, maybe, going on a date with me?" he asked nervously, struggling to maintain his usual façade or coolness.

Neji's heart skipped a beat, a light blush dusting his cheeks. *G-Gaara's asking me out? Oh my gosh…* Neji thought dreamily. "Um… wow Gaara. Ye-" Neji was cut off by a member of his dance team, who looked absolutely disgusted "EW!!! You and Neji? Together? DUDE, you are sooooo not good enough for him." He sneered. "Yeah just look at your clothes." Another pointed out cruelly.

Gaara flinched and grimaced, looking down at his baggy punk clothes. He looked like something out of DC magazine. Skater boy all the way.

Neji also flinched, opening his mouth as if to say something, but closed it. What could he say? He couldn't admit to his secret crush on the alleged skater boy. What would the rest of his team think? I mean come on; Gaara was a punk, and he did ballet… what more could he possibly say?

Neji swallowed back the hurt lump in his throat and forced a cruel smirk. "Y-Yeah, seriously. Why would I ever date you? You're a little punk. And yeah, your clothes suck." Neji almost couldn't believe he could say such hateful things. But for the sake of his social life, he could handle it.

Gaara shrunk back, eyes widening. A cloud of depression slowly drifted over him. He shrugged and hung his head, letting his skateboard fall to the ground. "Okay then… heh, I get it. I wouldn't want to step on any toes. Sorry about even suggesting it princess." And with that Gaara turned, stepping on his board and riding away quickly. He wouldn't allow anyone to see the tears welling in his eyes.

Neji almost went after him, but once again stopped himself. That wasn't a good idea. "Gaara…" Neji whispered, guilty dripping from his inaudible voice.

Unbeknownst to all, sad eyes witnessed the scene and followed Gaara, quietly slipping out of the cafeteria.

Gaara rushed off of the school property, skating quickly down the street. Soon, he stopped and turned into an alley. Gaara kicked up his board and sat by a graffiti covered wall, bringing his knees up to his chest and allowing the tears to fall.

"Gaara are you alright?" Gaara stopped his sobbing, looking around. He gasped "L-Lee?"

"Gaara, don't cry please." Lee sat down beside Gaara, laying a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I saw what happened…" Lee whispered. Gaara winced. "And I thought it was very wrong the way those jerks treated you. They should be ashamed of themselves." Lee said sadly.

Gaara nodded sadly, once again burring his head in his knees. "W-why? Why did he reject me? A-am I ugly of something? Is that it?" Gaara whimpered, looking up at Lee with tear filled eyes.

Lee choked, blushing furiously and clearing his throat. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Uh… well, I mean, no your not…. Honestly, I think you are beautiful." Lee said, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

Gaara stopped and lifted his head. "R-really, Lee?" he asked softly.

Lee smiled, cupping Gaara's cheek and wiping the tears away with his thumb. "Really, really." Lee whispered, bringing his face closer to Gaara's.

"L-Lee? W-what are you doing?" Gaara asked, blushing.

Lee smiled brightly. "Gaara, I know that your like Neji, but I have to say this; not only for you but for myself as well. I'm in love with you, and it would deeply honor me if you would consent to being my boyfriend." Gaara's eyes widened, his previous blush growing darker as a small smile broke the frown on his face.

"Lee… I… I would like that very much!" Gaara said sweetly.

Lee smiled leaning in further and kissing Gaara sweetly. The kiss wasn't too short, but was by no means a make out session. It was perfect and innocent. Just like first kisses should be.
