Description
I want the boy to die in the endand for it to--stop
on her face --
and end;
no sequels
I don't want to see her heal
I don't want you to make her all better
and meet someone almost-as-good.
I want to see her when she's
crushed
and I want it to stick with me,
because not everyone gets a happy ending
and a lot of the time;
The blows will permanently injure you
before you get to the gold.
tell me stories about real life
that teach lessons about caution
and how I should ignore it,
because I already know what could happen;
there's nothing like being prepared.

Aaah... I like this a lot. I think it's the thing about being in two mindsets - sometimes you want to see the characters get better, other times, you just... don't. Because there's something almost comforting about feeling that knot of misery beneath your heart - a heavy weight, but a beautiful kind of despair, because you know you genuinely cared.
