Description Elmo started out like a baby--just like you! Elmo learns how babies learn to try new things, and the extra love they need while learning and helps enhance pronunciation skills; identify old and new words; and develop vocabulary skills. He also makes reading less intimidating--and more fun--as he puts everything about the infancy of our favorite child into one new discovery after another, to make you laugh all day long!

GAME:
Either one of the following icons to play a game:
* A book
* A magnifying glass
* A baby bottle

SONG:
Touch the music note at the bottom of the page where specified, and you'll be singing along with Elmo in 2 wonderful songs!
* Elmo's World Theme (tune of "Elmo's Song")
* The Baby Song (tune of "Jingle Bells")

TRIVIA:
- I SPEAK BUT YOU DON'T: Elmo is the only character that speaks. Dorothy the Goldfish, Mr. Noodle, the shade, the drawer, the TV, the computer the piano, and all other objects on every page do not speak, but they make sounds.
- TOO VIRAL!: Since Elmo's World Theme is so famous as a popular Internet meme, people will be singing "La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la..." all day long!
- CHRISTMAS CONSPIRACY: "The Baby Song" was sung to the tune of Jingle Bells using the word "Babies", repeated over and over again. Ear rape!!!
- SAME TUNE, DIFFERENT SOUNDFONT: In page 2-3, the "Elmo's World" theme song contains the audio recycled from the 1998 intro, but uses the instruments from the Leap-font Wavetable Synthesis replacing the original instruments of the theme song, but keeping Elmo's singing voice from the 1998 theme. The same goes for "The Baby Song", on page 22-23.
- DIFFERENT INTROS: The USA version has the 1998 intro audio, but the UK version has the 2000 intro audio. The same goes for "Water!" as well as "Dogs!".
- INSTRUMENT REPLACEMENTS: The kazoo is replaced by the piano in the "Elmo's World" theme song, and the bass is replaced by a tuba, but the bassoon is still used in the intro song, but it uses the Leap-font Wavetable Synthesis sounds in the music. The same goes for "The Baby Song", having the toy piano replaced by a grand piano mixed in with celesta to make it sound like a toy piano, and the electric bass is replaced with the boing bass, but keeping the horns and woodwind (bassoon, clarinet, flute) backup in the tune.
- TELL ME A STORY ON SESAME STREET: Elmo (Kevin Clash) is the narrator of the story, and David Bamber (USA and UK) tells the props, gives users the directions and leads the games -- which is pretty rare.
- STARTUP SWITCHAROO: Just like the other Elmo's World books, The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street, and the other games from 1999-2000, it uses the audio from the CTW semi-circle logo instead of the Original LeapPad Startup sound. The books that have the Original LeapPad startup sound are: "Food!", "Bicycles!" and "Sleep!". The audio of the CTW semi-circle logo also appears in 2 Sesame Street books from 2001, which are "The Alphabet Jungle Game" and "The Great Numbers Game".
- SAME STUFF AS FROM THE TV!: The voice of Elmo is recycled straight from the TV episode itself of the same name. The illustrations of the door, drawer shade and the TV are the same as the episode itself as well.
- BABY BASH: This book contains BABIES!! Children under 4 are supervised!
- DON'T UPSET THE BABY: There is a game on pages 16 and 17 that is called "Help Elmo Calm the Crying Baby." There are 10 options in the game...
* Give the baby some milk
* Open the door and see what the weather would bring (babies don't like rain so if it rains, close the door)
* Have Telly Monster come in to Elmo's World and play a lullaby on his tuba
* Change the baby's diaper
* Give the baby a toy
* Read the baby a book
* Feed the baby something to eat
* Give the baby a rattle
* Give the baby a drum
* Take the baby to a nice warm comfortable bed so the baby can sleep
...so kids, do not upset the baby or else... the baby will cry! (Waa!)

Dancing was the first Elmo's World book to have Telly play the tuba, and Singing was the last, so Babies is the second to last Elmo's World book to have Telly play his tuba.
